Movement of the Day: Plank Exercises

Strengthen your core and improve your stability with The Plank Exercise! This simple yet effective move targets multiple muscle groups for a comprehensive workout.

Variations:
* Beginner: Start with a High Plank. Keep your arms straight with your hands directly under your shoulders, maintaining a straight line from head to heels.
* Standard: Perform the Low Plank. Lower down onto your forearms, keeping your body in a straight line from head to heels.

Benefits:
* Strengthens your core muscles
* Improves posture and stability
* Enhances balance and coordination
* Reduces the risk of back pain

No equipment needed, just your body and a little determination!

We’re excited to let you know some NEW features coming to our Studio shortly! 🔥

• EXPANDED SCHEDULE. Coach have asked to add 5(!) sessions to the weekly schedule to give you more options. 📆

• SATURDAY SKILLS. The Saturday sessions will now be 75min with an added focus point, initially we’ll dig deep into technique on the Concept 2 Ergs 🚴🏽‍♀️ 🚣 ⛷️

• PURPOSE VIDEOS. Daily videos breaking down how to approach each workout session, and a daily movement focus (coming next week). 🎥 🎬

• 1-on-1 PURPOSE REVIEW SESSIONS. Coach Gerry also wants to meet up with each of you for individual goal getting sessions to learn how we can further tailor your training!

Welcome our new Lead Trainer, Coach Gerry aka “Mr Fantastic”!🦸🏻‍♂️

We’re excited to have finally found someone to take over the reins of what we believe is an amazing training experience, and in Coach Gerry someone with the capacity to focus solely on making every session in the Studio an epic fitness adventure! 🔥

SOME FACTS ABOUT GERRY:

Fitness background (short):
• My fitness journey started in 2008. I was a Virgin Active goer until October 2022, that’s when I found a better way to build more functional fitness 😉.
• Past 14 years I’ve combined functional fitness training, swimming & running to build a healthier version of myself. The last couple of months has been a combo of Concept Cardio and Hyrox.

Coaching background:
• Qualified Personal trainer since 2010.
• Virgin Active trainer + Group class instructor there for a few years.
• Then worked on a cruise ship as a personal trainer, yoga -, spinning- and pilates instructor and every other group exercise you can think of - legs, bums and tums, core classes, even Tai chi (but please don’t ask me to coach that again 😅).

Best thing about coaching Concept Cardio:
In a very short time I have really connected with the CC members, seeing them do things they couldn’t a couple of weeks ago makes me so happy and not a word of a lie, the members always puts me in a good mood.

What you look forward to the most in your role as Concept Cardio Lead Trainer:
• Helping people achieve things they didn’t think was possible at first.
• Getting more people to move towards a healthier and fitter version of themselves. All I ask is that they, just show up. I’ll help with the rest.

Favourite movement: Hmmm, there are so many. But I’ll go with Box Jumps.

Least favourite movement:
Double DB/KB thruster (I think I’m speaking on behalf of everyone in the studio, and the world. 😅

PS. Can I also mention that I have a love/loveless relationship with the hurricane bike..?

* Like to put a Smile on people's face.
* Love Fitness, and making others fit.
* Have a background of teaching Group Training Classes (Spinning, Aerobics, etc valuable).
* Understand and/or are educated when it comes to Functional Fitness.
* Aren't afraid of early mornings and/or nights (some days you'll run sessions both).

We're looking for a rockstar trainer that will be heading up our Concept Cardio-Studio, and with that have a great opportunity to build a professional career out of their passion for Fitness!
