Each country got a day to be represented at the CLRG Irish Dancing Commission 50th World Irish Dance Championships. Being one of the developing countries we joined with others to make the day very special.
We all brought lovely local treats for the teacher's lounge. We had home made biscuits, rusks, Niknaks, chocolates as well as fresh Koeksisters!
It was great working with everyone and decorating the hall was fun and colourful. We were lucky the dancing for the day ended early.

This CLRG Irish Dancing Commission 50th World Irish Dancing Championships was the first one as a teacher and having a dancer represent TASA.
I am so incredibly proud of Cathryn and all the work she puts into her dancing as well as her dedication to this wonderful dance form.
I loved being back in the competition scene and always feel at home when the music starts playing.
Thank you to everyone that has helped Cathryn and myself to get to this point. A special mention to The Kiely-Walsh Academy of Irish Dance and all their hard work and knowledge they put into South Africa over the years.
I didn't take as many pictures as dancing was my priority but I would like to spend more time photographing more moments in the future. I will also have better gear, so watch this space.
If you see your school or know someone please feel free to share/tag.
Stay tuned for more…

Irish Dance South Africa 's 2nd location in Johannesburg for the An Re Orga - The Newest Regions performance.
We will try locate the video so we can share it. Watching the opening ceremony at the CLRG Irish Dancing Commission 50th World Championships was a treat and loved what every region shared and created.
