We find the views less seen, on the roads less traveled. “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? "Called to go.

And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’” – Isaiah 6:8

Fruit that Remains. 1 Cor 2:9

28/02/2026

I saw the video of a girlfriend going to fetch her boyfriend from a bar because he was almost passed out drunk. The comments were filled with men saying, “That’s the kind of woman I want.”

Let’s just be honest here.

If your wife has to come and collect you from a bar because you cannot control yourself, you have already surrendered something far more valuable than a night out, you have surrendered respect. Not because she is unwilling to stand by you, but because you have abandoned your post.

Scripture is not vague about this at all.
Proverbs 20:1 says: “Wine is a mocker and beer a brawler; whoever is led astray by them is not wise.”
And Ephesians 5:18 says: “Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.”

A man who is led by alcohol is not leading his home.

Now ask yourself this hard question:
What if, on her way to fetch you, she was in an accident?
What if your family at home was attacked or needed you urgently?
Where are you? Lying unconscious on a bar stool.

As men, we are called to love our wives “as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her” (Ephesians 5:25). That is sacrificial leadership. That is presence. That is self-control. Not self-indulgence.

Many men complain that they do not receive enough respect at home, that their wives do not understand them. But respect is not demanded it is cultivated over time.
1 Timothy 3:2–5 speaks about a man being self-controlled and managing his household well. If you cannot manage your own impulses, how will you manage your household?

How can your wife trust you to protect her, to provide, to lead, if she must carry you out of a bar? That image does more damage than you realise. Leadership is not loud. It is steady. It is disciplined. It is dependable.

This is not about shaming women who stand by their men. Loyalty is beautiful. But loyalty should not be abused as an excuse for irresponsibility.

If you want to be the kind of man who is respected, feared by darkness, and trusted by his family, then let the Lord be your obsession, not alcohol.
Be filled with Him, not with drink. When the Spirit governs you, self-control follows (Galatians 5:22–23).

Stop looking for a woman who will fetch you from your weakness.
Become a man who does not need fetching from a bar. Become a man worth respecting.

A quote from Trevor Sheatz: "Thinking you can be a Christian without being part of a local church is like thinking you can be a soldier without being part of an army".

He goes on to say that we need the accountability and fellowship of other followers of Christ.

The Devil wants to isolate you as a believer. He wants to cut you off from the positive influence of other believers. The reason being, that you could be lead astray by simple nuances and "twists" in messages and posts on social media. These message seem honest and passes the sniff test, but under true scrutiny, they fail. They are very effective in leading believers away from the simple truth and over complicating the Gospel.

Pride in your own gained "enlightened knowledge" above what everyone else knows based on being mislead by social media and versions of Christianity that have nothing to do with God, is the end goal. You end up thinking: "I don't need church, i don't need fellowship. "

What inevitably happens is that you turn inward, more and more every day, until you become so prideful of your own "enlightened knowledge" that the truth seems way below you, and that whoever speaks it can't possibly reach your level of understanding of God and the Gospel.

Knowledge has always been the tool of the devil. The Devil has used knowledge in its sinister form since the Garden of Eden and when broken down to its simplest form becomes PRIDE.

Our ego's are mankind's downfall and one of the easiest ways to isolate and subsequently mislead us. Romans 1:25 says: for that they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. Here Paul addresses the fact that citizens of Rome offered libations to the Genius of Ceasar before entering courts, market places or assemblies.
The context reminds us that we should never worship creation, whether it be social media, political power and yes, ourselves. The devil wants you worshiping yourself and your enlightened knowledge, and your own successes. It is the exchange of an eternal truth for the fatal lie.

Proverbs 18:15 says: The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge, for the ears of the wise seek it out.

This scripture is used in the deception by the devil. At its core is wisdom and discernment, IN SCRIPTURE. Seeking these by studying your bible. However, social media is great at removing your need for the bible. You feel like you are learning, but you are slowly but surely removed from the truth with certain posts that just seem like "New Knowledge" and that somehow because of the age we live in we are enlightened to things that Paul and Peter and all the Apostles did not know. Slowly peeling you away from the truth and isolating you.

Without fellowship and going to church where you can commune with fellow believers who can challenge you on these thoughts and ideas, you will end up believing the fatal lie and live a life that is separate from the truth.

If you have a problem with your local church that is based on whether you like or dislike your Pastor or that the people at church are this or that. Then perhaps its time to reflect, why are you there, is it for people or the Lord. Are you seeking only to take from church and not give as well, in terms of ministry.

A soldier on his own stands no chance against an overwhelming enemy who is prepared and structured as well as equipped. But a soldier that is part of an army is no longer an island and the enemy can no longer attack him at will, the enemy must attack an army to get to you. This army includes angels and ultimately God. He is for you, therefore no one can stand against you.

Lean not on your own understanding. But seek the Lord in scripture, not social media.

A Better Fit Than We Imagined

There was a season where the way forward wasn’t clear, where answers came slowly and patience was required. The Lord teaches trust rather than expedience. “Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” (Psalm 27:14). It wasn’t a time of despair, but it was a time of shaping. We where learning to believe that God was working even when the outcome wasn’t yet visible.

I was holding onto pride. The Fortuner represented comfort, status, and familiarity. But the Lord made it clear: let go. “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” (James 4:6). Obedience meant releasing what I valued and stepping into uncertainty. Using the left over funds I started my videography business. without guarantees, but with a peace only the Lord gives. “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds.” (Philippians 4:7).
For more than a year we were without a 4x4. I missed Grunter every day. But the Lord’s Scripture is blunt: “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. (Isaiah 55:8). What I thought I needed wasn’t what we actually needed.
Then the Hardbody arrived. Quietly. Purposefully. And with it came blessing after blessing. “The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me.” (Psalm 138:8). I told my wife Lynette that this bakkie now stands where the Fortuner never could. Not because it’s newer or flashier but because it is provision, not pride.
This Hardbody fits our life better in every way. More space. Lighter on fuel. Lower monthly installment. Practical. Reliable. And this is my third one simple, honest engineering. I can work on almost every part of it myself. Parts are affordable. Maintenance extremely manageable. It’s exactly what we need, not what impresses.
Looking back, it’s obvious: the Lord set this bakkie aside for us long before we ever saw it.
As we step into a new year and new adventures, all praise belongs to Him. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5). We did—and here we are.
This journey did not end with getting the Hardbody though. It opened a door. Through the Hardbody, the Lord gifted me the opportunity to start 4x4 ViewFinder Disciples on Dirt. What a privilege it is to help guide fellowship among a group of truly remarkable people, some who I’ve walked with for years, others newly placed on my path, all deeply valued.

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10). The Lord has laid it on my heart that 2026 will be a year of impact for our group.

None of this could have happened without His perfect timing and the Hardbody He provided to make it possible. All praise and glory belong to Him. Amen

Finally wrapped up the roof rack build for the Hardbody
Went with a checkerplate deck to keep things light but solid. I didn’t go wild with the reinforcement, no point pretending the OEM roof mounts can take heavy loads. The structure is balanced, minimal, and does exactly what it needs to.

Had my son and little girl do the official load test, just a bit of flex under their weight, which is perfect. I prefer a full deck anyway; those open-slat racks are a pain when small gear slips through, like what happened on the Fortuner setup.

Now the rig’s got the rooftop tent fitted and dressed in full holiday mode. Simple. Functional. Ready to roll.

What a beautifull message from Pastor Ryan Loubscher about faith and good works. The analogy of a row boat with two oars, one being faith and one being good works really helps describe the relationship between the two. Using only one, gets you nowhere, but using both gets you moving in your purpose.

A Prayer
Lord, it’s me, in my rawest form.
No embellishments, no fancy words.
Hands raised high, not because I’m worthy,
but because You are.
I can’t sing like an angel, though I wish I could.
All I want is to bring glory to You in song.
So I sing from my heart when no one’s around,
and I hope You hear me.
Lord, it’s me, as open as can be.
No leaf to cover me, nowhere to hide.
Knees pressed to the ground, trembling before You.
I stumble over words when I speak,
though I long to tell the world who You are.
So I start small, one heart, one story, one moment at a time.
Because even if my voice shakes, I’ll still speak Your name.
Lord, it’s me, worn thin.
Weary bones and a restless mind.
Face down in awe of Your glory.
The noise of life keeps me from stillness,
though all I crave is to know You more.
So I steal moments between the chaos
to sit quietly in Your light.
Lord, it’s me, afraid sometimes.
The world feels too heavy, and I feel too small.
Hands trembling, heart racing, wondering if You still see me.
I doubt when I shouldn’t, falter when I should stand tall.
But all I want is to trust You completely.
So I whisper, help my unbelief.
Lord, it’s me, reaching out.
My plans crumble like sand between my fingers.
I try to control what was never mine to hold.
You ask me to let go, to rest, to be still.
And though I fight the silence, all I want
is to learn to rest in Your will.
Lord, it’s me, redeemed.
Not by what I’ve done, but by what You’ve done for me.
I come with all my scars, all my songs, all my tears.
You gather them in Your hands like treasures.
Because all You wanted was me, all along.
But You say:
I don’t care that you can’t sing, only that you do.
I don’t care that you can’t speak in public, only that you do.
I don’t care that you fall, only that you reach for Me.
I don’t care that you come broken, only that you come.
And so I do, Lord.
It’s me, still raw, still learning, still Yours.

🌄 Grabouw 4x4 Route: Faith in the Mountains

This past weekend, our 4x4 fellowship group took on the Grabouw 4x4 Route in the Western Cape — a trail filled with mountain views, tricky switchbacks, and God’s amazing creation.

Our theme for the day was “Faith in the Mountains”, how God uses mountains in the Bible as places of meeting, challenge, and transformation. Just like the obstacles we faced on the trail, He equips us to climb, endure, and overcome in life.

Featured vehicles: Nissan Hardbody, Toyota Fortuner, Nissan Patrol, and more.
🙏 Message: Faith, fellowship, and the beauty of God’s creation.

If you live near Cape Town and would like to join our fellowship drives, comment below or DM me to be added to our WhatsApp group.
