APPRECIATION POST: In celebration of World Cleanup Day and International Coastal Cleanup Day, The Mountain Crew - TMC and Pick n Pay People n Planet, again joined forces to conduct a beach cleanup - this time on Camps Bay beach.
More than 60 volunteers selflessly gave up of their time to help SAVE OUR PLANET. A total of 39 bags of waste were collected, amounting to more than 350kg of waste!
A special shout out to every single volunteer who pitched up. We had volunteers who came from Brooklyn, Bothasig, Camps Bay, Delft, Khayelitsha, Milnerton, Manenberg, Plattekloof and Thornton.
Without you, none of this would be possible, so THANK YOU!

On behalf of everyone at The Mountain Crew - TMC, we would like to extend our gratitude to the 70+ volunteers who arrived early and sacrificed their time to participate in the People n Planet Clean up in partnership with The Mountain Crew & Krispy Kreme on Saturday, 13 November 2021.
We were pleasantly surprised at the amount of volunteers that pitched, but more so, that there were a great youth turnout. In just under three hours, we collected 350+ kgs (more than 50 bags) of litter in the Brooklyn Library vacinity and the immediate surroundings.
Of all the items of litter that were collected, the most unusual and disturbing item proved to be a used syringe (for medical purposes) that was not disposed of in the proper manner.
To our partners for the day, Pick n Pay People n Planet and Krispy Kreme South Africa, thank you for your efforts in making the day a roaring success! After completing the biggest to date, our volunteers were gifted beautiful and environmentally friendly, reusable shopping bags, which had a variety of lovely snacks.
You, too, can make a meaningful difference to the planet. Be part of the solution and not the problem. Always use bins. Change your behaviour and mindset. Do better. Do not litter. Encourage and participate in clean ups, and initiatives such as the , wherever you are in the world.
Our thanks, again, to all who participated in the clean up. Please keep your eyes peeled on the Pick n Pay People n Planet's social media platforms in the coming days for more images and findings from The Mountain Crew - TMC's clean up with Pick n Pay People n Planet and Krispy Kreme South Africa.
