Smart environmental sustainability isn’t always about new technology. It's also about designing systems that keep giving back.
At Century City, our on-site nursery propagates plants from cuttings taken across the neighbourhood.
Each new plant comes from parent stock that has already established itself here, it’s suited to local conditions from the start. Once grown on, these plants are replanted in our public spaces, and in time become a source of new cuttings themselves.
The result is a closed loop: less reliance on external suppliers, less transport, less waste, and a landscape that strengthens over time rather than being replaced.
It’s a small operation with a long-term view, and a good example of how we think about sustainability across the precinct.
It’s how a neighbourhood grows sustainably, one cutting at a time.
