Royal Cape Golf Club is a true championship course having hosted the South African Open no less than But don't be deceived by its apparent easiness.
Extensive work was done on the greens in 2000 to bring them up to the USGA standards and the course today is a fine test of golf and worthy of its championship rating. Essentially it is a very flat parkland course, well maintained and a pleasure to play with lovely views of the surrounding mountains. The first Weekend of Club Champs 2026 gave the best vibes.
It was so great to see that after a hard toil in the sun, members took time to enjoy the weather and vibe at the clubhouse and enjoying a couple drinks with mates and their playing groups.

Day 2 of Club Champs, we touched base with Ji-hoon Sung, the gentlemen who claimed the top spot in Division C, after securing the win in a play off.
14 March 2026, we teed off with Day 1 of our annual Club Champs competition.
This year we celebrate our 140th anniversary of Club Champs and what a momentous occasion to reflect on our clubs history and continue to build the community amongst our members as we look to further strengthen our legacy.

Royal Cape proudly hosted the Cape Town Open for the 11th time this year, and it felt more special than ever. The course was buzzing with spectators and players, local and international, many saying it’s in the best condition they’ve ever seen. It’s a compliment we heard last year too, and somehow the course just keeps getting better.
A huge congratulations to , Rashied, and the entire team - your consistency and hard work are what set us apart. We’re incredibly fortunate, as members, to enjoy a truly world-class course.
