Westlake Social Responsibility

On Tuesday, 13 October, at the Ladies' prizegiving, Lynsay Minnaar, Social Responsibility portfolio head, handed over a donation to Mia Lashbrooke from The Children’s Christmas Pudding Fund. The money raised from raffles during Festival Week will be used by the fund for the benefit of the 4 children’s charities that they support. Mia gave our ladies a history of the origins of this project, touching on the fact that it all started in the Westlake area at her family’s Raapkraal Farm. Puddings were made to sell for the benefit of a children’s crèche in Westlake. This tradition continues.

Thank you to all our members who supported this fundraiser.

Junior Development Golf Clinics

We re-launched our awesome Junior Development Golf Clinics on Tuesday. Ladies' Club Champ, Christan Booysen, along with our Junior Coach Zach, gave 14 eager youngsters their first lesson in golf, and the enthusiasm and talent were there for all to see.

We will be giving clinics twice a week and will expand the programme as the demand increases. Your R2 every round goes towards this wonderful initiative, and we hope to develop a whole new group of young golfers!

𝘉𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘯 𝘓𝘢𝘳𝘢 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘉𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘵 𝘓𝘦𝘦 𝘷𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘵 𝘞𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘭𝘢𝘬𝘦

Cricketing superstars, West Indian batsman Brian Lara and Australian fast bowler Brett Lee were in Cape Town last weekend and Westlake welcomed them for a quiet game of golf. It was very low key, but member Jacques Horn supplied this picture of himself and Tristan Shipper who played with the 2 cricketing greats.
