PRIVATE SECURITY SECTOR WAGE NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE

Yesterday unions rejected employers revised offer as per the following:

Year 1:
Basic salary R4 596 + R145 Wellness premium = R4 841 which is equivalent to 8.4%

Year 2:
Basic salary R4 826 + R310 Wellness premium = R5 146 which is equivalent to 8.3%

Year 3:
Basic salary R5 067 + R433 Wellness premium, R100 Med aid = R5 600 equivalent to 8.2%

*An increase of 433 which is equivalent to 8.5% will be added in the 4th year while negotiations unfold.

The CCMA instructed unions to submit picketing areas nationally in two weeks so picketing rules can be drafted and the certificate can be issued.

We call upon all security workers under our Union to a meeting at the Philippi train station at 07:00 on Saturday the 26 of October 2019 for the issue regarding wage increase negotiations. We need you our members to further mandate us on a way forward as we have received a Notice of Sit Down from the CCMA.
