H-Way Fishing was founded by Henning Venter (Sea Monster)

He fished competitively for more than 30 years and has vast knowledge to pass on. Henning was only a youngster of 14 years when he was selected to fish the junior internationals in Namibia during 1989. He fished every year nationals for representing the GRIQUAS as a junior and even fished the Senior nationals for GRIQUAS in 1993 and 1994. He then moved to Cape Town and joined a club and soon made his presence noticed and got selected within one year for the Western Province B side. Not long after that, he was selected for the A side and keep his A-side colours until 2007 when he joined the Boland league and was selected for the A-side within 1 year and represent Boland Aside for 5 years. He was selected twice in the South African Presidents A-team competing against Namibia and he just loves the sport.

Namibia Yellowfish Trip Report – Richtersveld Adventures
What a 5-day trip it turned out to be!
Greg, his son Brandon, and three of Brandon’s mates joined me for a yellowfish adventure on the Orange River in Namibia. They arrived full of hope and ready for some serious yellow action… only for the river to completely overflow its banks. Trees, logs and debris came floating past us day and night — fishing for yellows was simply impossible. Finding camping spots tricky.
As their guide I made the call to switch things up and scratch for barbel instead. And boy, did it pay off!
We ended the trip with 26 barbel, the biggest tipping the scales at 19kg, with the majority ranging from 8kg and up (only a few under). Full bellies from great camp food and some of the most breathtaking views the Richtersveld has to offer made it even better. Evenings under those crystal-clear, starlit skies sealed the deal.
Sometimes the river has other plans… but the memories we made more than made up for it. What a special trip with a great bunch of guys!

🌊 Today, on World Rivers Day, we’re just grateful to spend so much time out here with our guests.

It’s a pretty special place to spend our days fishing, exploring, and enjoying the wilderness scenery🎣.

It's not exactly our holiday... but we're more than happy to join the American holiday. 🎣 Any excuse to get out on the water and go fishing is a good one.
