This week we were reminded of something special.
No matter where you go in the world, the Wallendair family will find you. And that's a wonderful thing. ❤️

Look who came to visit us for a couple of days...

Yes. I admit - what followed was exactly what you'd expect:
Lots of talking.Lots of laughter.A little cycling.A little sightseeing.A lot of gelato. 🍨😄
And yes...
Lots of shopping. 🛍️😂And yes...
Pete survived. 😂
Then, just like that, it was time for train stations, hugs, and "see you soon."

The older we get, the more we realise that the best part of travelling isn't just the places we visit or the flying (which is undeniably fabulous) - It's the people we share it with. ❤️ YOU

🇮🇹🪂 Italy Catch Up

The days are rolling by in a blur of flying, cycling, coffee stops, new faces, flying ... Gelato ... flying... 😄

We've been test-flying Swing gliders at Lago d'Idro, making new friends, exploring the Ledro Valley and enjoying some truly spectacular flying.

There have been mountain views, lakeside moments, bicycle missions, cups of tea with locals and one particularly memorable veggie sandwich that may have changed our lives. 😂

And somewhere between all of that... and a torrential down pour or two, we were reminded why we love Italy so much. ❤️🇮🇹

🪂🌍 Travel Bug Update — Still Wandering 😄

Good morning family!
Sorry we've been so quiet... we went a little off-radar. 😄
Between being on the road, in the air, and doing what fly people do best — socialising ❤️ — the days have simply disappeared.

Our latest adventure took us on a quick detour to Ungerhausen, Germany 🇩🇪 for some Forster family celebrations. 🎂🥳

Followed by a strategic stop at IKEA in Ulm.
By "strategic" we mean we went in for one thing and emerged several hours later wondering what had happened. 😅
The boys (as you can see) assumed the position and endured bravely... 😂

Then it was back to Austria 🇦🇹 for the Kössen Testival 2026.
🚠 Cable cars.
🪂 Test flights.
☕ Coffee.
🪂 Flying talk.
🪂 More flying talk.
🪂 And then some flying talk about flying. 😂

Catching up with friends from across the industry, across the world — and even a few familiar faces from Wilderness.

(It's amazing how this sport brings people together from every corner of the globe.)

Pete also received his annual medicinal dose of Kaiserschmarrn. 🥞😋 Recovery appears to be progressing exceptionally well.

Anyhoo ... 🇮🇹 Italy awaits.
The plan is simple?
A lot of flying.
A lot of gelato.
It's going to be tough.
But we promised ourselves we'd be brave...

🪂 Travel Bug Update — The Dolomites Edition

One of the best parts of travelling is catching up with old friends. ❤️ And this week was exactly that.

Yip, we had the pleasure of spending some time with Michael Nestler and Gudrun Öchsel — otherwise known as The Professional Flying Team 😄

And of course... no visit with Michael is complete without a healthy exchange of flying stories, industry catch-ups, technology banter, old-wisdom downloads, and enough paragliding talk to keep normal people awake for days. 😂

Then it was off to the breathtaking Rose Garden in the Dolomites.
🚠 Cable car up.
🥾 A little hiking.
⏳ Some parawaiting.
☕ Coffee.
⏳ More parawaiting.
🌤️ A little weather watching.
😂 A lot of laughter.

And finally...
🪂🔥 FLYING.

The reward?
A spectacular late-afternoon flight above one of the most beautiful mountain ranges on the planet.
Big mountains. Endless views. All magnified by that wonderful feeling that comes from being ridiculously high above absolutely everything. 😍

Safe to say we're enjoying every minute.

To all you air lovers out there, we thought we'd take you with us as we test-fly the new Swing tandem at Tremalzo.

The short version?
Our wings were perfect. [Shout out Alessio Casolla 👋🤩]
Our coordinates... not so much. 😅

Turns out filming and navigation are not the same skill set.
We were far too busy admiring the scenery and capturing the moment to worry about minor details like directions. 😂

What. A. Flight. 🪂🔥

A quick catch-up from somewhere between mountains, coffee stops, gliders and old friends… ❤️

After Klagenfurt, we headed to Greifenburg 🇦🇹 to meet and fly with Michl from Luftikus.
What a beautiful day in the sky. Proper flying people. Proper flying conversations. 🪂 (And yes — our photo made the Luftikus page 😏)

From there we drove on to Innsbruck for the night, catching up with Herbert and Carmen Hofbauer — longtime friends and familiar faces from the Pro-Design days.

Next stop: PHI HQ in Maurach at the Achensee 😄
Coffee, catchups and conversations on the now-famous PHI sofa with Hannes Papesh himself. And a little Fly Time off course😉

We stopped at the lake afterwards… because honestly, how could we not!? 😍
The scenery? Unreal.
The water? Personally called my name! I'm serious🥶😂
But I prevailed. Feet only. Decision final.

Then it was strawberries🍓 literally ALL the way to Germany 🇩🇪 to visit Gunther & Birgit Wörl from Swing Paragliders — with a quick stop in Ungerhausen to catch up with Hubert & Barbara too.

And honestly… all this gallivanting reinforces one very beautiful truth: No matter where you go in the world — with fly people, it immediately feels like home. ❤️🪂

Now… onward to Italy 🇮🇹😄

🪂🌍 Travel Bug Update —

Well… Pete officially tested the “sleep anywhere” pilot theory on airport chairs while we waited for sunrise in Istanbul 😏✈️
And WOW.
What an incredible city. It was our first time ....
Spices, strong coffee, cobbled streets, bustling markets, and enough history to leave your head spinning. ❤️

We wandered through the magnificent Hagia Sophia, got wonderfully lost in the street markets, drank far too much coffee, bought spices we probably didn’t need… and loved every second of it. ☀️
Then…
Goodbye Turkey 🇹🇷
Hello Slovenia 🇸🇮

Today’s mission: sunshine, swimming, garden hangs… and Ljubljana by bicycle 🚲😄

I LOVE my bicycle.
It knew exactly where to go 🙂
Straight to Carla’s for a little retail therapy… followed closely by a Pete resuscitation stop:

🥐 pastries we absolutely could not deny

Safe to say… holiday mode is officially kicking in. 😎

Tomorrow is our official rest day.

And hopefully a sky or two shared with some of YOU along the way. ❤️
