If there's one thing you can bank on in a racing season, it's Aldo Domeyer delivering a phenomenal strike rate. The Cape-based jockey never finished outside the top 5 jockeys, in terms of strike-rate, over the last 5 years.

He has delivered the goods this season so far, winning 7 out of his 21 rides, which gives him a superb 33% strike rate to date. That number will naturally go down as he takes on more rides, but him eventually finishing in the top 5 yet again is almost a given.

In fact, in the 2021/22 & 2025/26 seasons, Aldo completed those campaigns with the highest win percentages – so we wouldn't rule that out from happening this year as well.

The c**t – out of the superb stallion, Andrew Fortune – rides at a weight of 58kgs, which means the chances of him getting a full card of rides are rare. This can sometimes be a positive, but the reality is that many horses get caught out when they have to give away weight to the field – and Aldo is sure to frequently find himself riding those mounts. Being associated with the Bass Racing Stables will most certainly be a help, though, particularly for the quality factor.

Nonetheless, with the advantages and disadvantages weighed out, Aldo has proven to be a model of consistency in the jockey ranks, and one shouldn't expect to see that halted anytime soon!
