Our committee is dedicated to supporting transplant athletes, growing our community and creating opportunities for members to participate, connect and thrive through sport.

A massive, heartfelt thank you to our previous committee members, who served WCTSA during the 2022–2024 and 2024–2026 terms. We are incredibly grateful for their time, dedication and contribution to our association. 💚

A special hat's off to **Rentia Le Roux**, who served as Chairperson during both terms and has continued with WCTSA in her new role as **Treasurer**. 👏💚

💚 August is Organ Donor Awareness Month.

This month, we honour the incredible gift of organ donation and celebrate the lives made possible through transplantation.

Our Western Cape Transplant Sports Association volunteers are living proof that life after transplant can be full of possibility, purpose and sport. 🏃‍♀️🏆

Without our donors, we would not be here. ❤️

Wrap-up from the Western Cape Transplant Sports Association team at Groote Schuur Hospital!

A huge thank you to our co-ordinator, Nadeema Madatt, and all the incredible volunteers who joined us between 09:00 and 12:00 today.

We had fantastic conversations with hospital staff, transplant recipients and visitors, sharing our stories of health, recovery and transplant sport.

We reached 15 newly interested members, of which were 4 transplant recipients, 1 person currently waiting for a transplant, and 1 donor.

It was a really positive day for transplant sport awareness and connecting with the GSH community.

The Western Cape Transplant Sports Association hosted a very successful Tea, Hats and Hope Fundraiser yesterday. We would like to thank all involved in this well organised event. A special word of thanks to Prof Elmi Muller who was the guest speaker. It was a day filled with inspirational stories, laughter and raising awareness around Transplant Sport. We wish our team all the best for the upcoming National Transplant Games taking place from 24-27 September in Pretoria.

Team Transplant was out in full force at this years Cape Town Festival of Running doing the 5 x 5km team relay in Green Point. Congratulations to the following athletes for taking part and raising awareness around organ donation and the South African Transplant Sports Association
