Keeping our dogs and their environments healthy 🥰

Anyone involved in dog sport knows that looking after our dogs goes far beyond training and competition. Keeping kennels, equipment and training environments clean is an important part of responsible dog ownership and care.

🎉 EXCITING NEWS! 🎉

We are incredibly excited to announce that The Belgian Shepherd Dog Club of the Western Cape is now under the Excel Agility umbrella! 🐾

Established in 1988, the Belgian Shepherd Dog Club has a long and proud history within the dog sport community. We are truly honoured and privileged to carry this club forward, building on its legacy and helping ensure that it continues to grow and thrive for many years to come. ❤️

This exciting new chapter also opens the door for Excel Agility to expand into the KUSA events side of the dog sports world, creating even more opportunities for competitors, handlers and their dogs.

And with 2027 shaping up to be a very active year for agility in the Cape, we have plenty in the pipeline! 🏆

We cannot wait to share our planned KUSA show calendar for 2027 with you all and bring even more exciting opportunities to the Western Cape agility and dog sports community.

For the dogs we love

Our dogs have a way of becoming part of absolutely everything we do, from training sessions and competition weekends to relaxing at home and all the adventures in between.

That’s what we love about Happy Hounds ZA . Their range is all about making life with our dogs a little more enjoyable, with a selection of products, accessories and treats created with our four-legged companions in mind.

It also makes them a wonderful fit for the Boland Regional Trial 2026, where our dogs are very much the stars of the show.

A treat with a little more behind it 🥰

When you’re constantly training, competing and travelling with your dog, treats aren’t just treats. They become part of the routine, rewards, motivation and little moments of connection between dog and handler.

That’s where Vitopet caught our attention.

A bed you’ll find in many agility homes 🏡

Some sponsors are new to the community. Others have been part of it for years.

For many agility handlers, a Hound Sleeper is already a familiar sight, at home, at training and wherever our dogs need a comfortable place to switch off after doing what they love. 🥰

Ricky’s story: a legacy of care 🫶

As we count down to the Boland Regional Trial 2026, we’re excited to introduce another of the brands supporting our event, Ricky Pet Products .

But Ricky isn’t just a name on a packet. There’s an incredible story behind it.

During World War II, a Border Collie/Old English Sheepdog named Ricky was trained as a British Army war dog, working alongside his handler, Maurice Yeilding, in the dangerous task of detecting and clearing mines.

In 1945, Ricky and his handler were wounded by an exploding mine. Despite his own injuries, Ricky made his way back through the minefield and led medics to his wounded handler.

For his extreme bravery and devotion to duty, Ricky was awarded the Dickin Medal, often described as the animal equivalent of the Victoria Cross.

Ricky's story didn't end there. His legacy lives on through Ricky Pet Products, whose range was developed with a focus on the health and wellbeing of our pets, including products featuring Buchu, a South African botanical that has a long history of traditional use.

We love that behind this brand is a story about courage, loyalty, partnership and the incredible bond between people and dogs, values that feel very close to the heart of dog sport.
