💙 This Sunday – Walk. Remember. Prevent.

We’re looking forward to coming together this Sunday, 27 September, to remember Scott, spend time together and raise awareness around colon cancer and the importance of early detection.

🚶‍♀️ Meet from 8:30am at 31 Hely Hutchinson Avenue, Camps Bay, with the walk starting at 9:00am.

The route is approximately 4.5km along a mountain jeep track and will take around an hour. You can walk, jog or run – whatever suits you! There will be signage along the way to guide you, and we’ll all meet back at 31 Hely Hutchinson Avenue once we’ve finished.

☕ Not walking? Please still come and join us!

Our coffee truck will be set up from 8:30am, so you can grab a coffee and enjoy some time with us. If you’re not joining the walk, come along at around 10:00am and meet everyone when we’re back.

Whether you’re walking, running, having a coffee, or simply coming to spend some time with us, we’d love to see you there. 💙

Cape Town Marathon 2027 🏃‍♀️

This one means so much more than just running 42.2km.

I’m running in memory of my beautiful brother-in-law Scott, and I’m running to raise funds for the incredible Warriors on Wheels.

Please follow my journey over the months ahead, the training, the good runs, the hard ones and eventually that Cape Town Marathon finish line. ❤️

I’ve done a thing… 🏃‍♀️❤️

I’ve entered the charity ballot for the 2027 Cape Town Marathon and now I’m crossing absolutely everything that I get a place. It would be for Warriors On Wheels Foundation. If I’m lucky enough to be selected, this one will mean so much more than simply running 42.2km.

I want to dedicate every kilometre to my beautiful brother-in-law Scott, who we lost far too soon, and to my sister Carol and their incredible family who have had to learn to navigate life without him. We all know how much he loved to run! He ran right up until he no longer could, always smiling.

Scott is thought of, spoken about and missed so often. ❤️

Sometimes I need something big and a little scary on the horizon to make me do the hard things that are actually good for me. Training for a marathon certainly qualifies. 😅

So here’s hoping I get that charity spot.

If I do, I’ll be running for a cause that matters, raising as much as I possibly can, and carrying Scott and his family with me all the way to that finish line.

I made this for my beautiful brother in law Scott last year before he died.
He said he wanted a smiley face cup!
I think he struggled to smile at the end.
Nonetheless in every photo I see of you you’re smiling! 😊 you always smiled!
Oh boy do I think of him often.
It’s coming up for a year.
It brings tear to my eyes that he is no longer here for his amazing family!
They miss you every day Scott!
And so do I
