Finz Aquatics and Fitness Development Specialises in Learn to swim, performance enhancement, disability therapy and children diagnosed ASD

Finz Aquatics is a registered swim school that was established in 2015. The swim school has registered Learn to Swim coaches, we focus and specialize in Learn to swim for all age groups starting at 6 months of age. The aim of the swim school is to provide individuals with a life long life skill that is exciting, fun but more importantly ensures water safety.

Lesson 1 was screaming, Lesson 2 was WAR… and Lesson 3? WE’RE BESTIES NOW! 😂😭❤️🌊

Guys, I need you to go back and watch Aadam’s Lesson 1, the endless screaming, the stonewalling, the complete refusal to acknowledge his teacher. 😭😂 Not a single business meeting was getting through to this little boss!

Lesson 2? EVEN MORE INTENSE! 😩 He was starting to realise what this whole swimming situation was actually about, and he was NOT impressed. 😂

BUT TODAY… LESSON 3! 🥹❤️

GUYS, WE MADE A FRIEND! 🥳😂

He went underwater, willingly held onto his toys, listened to me singing Wheels on the Bus 🚌🎶 and actually started trusting the process!

And the funniest part? The SECOND he realised we were becoming friends, he tried to bring the screaming BACK! 😭😭😂 Like, “Hold on, Teacher… we’re getting a little too comfortable here!” 🤣🤣

Watch how I introduce the submerging, how I prepare him beforehand, and especially how he responds when he surfaces. 🥹❤️ He’s beginning to understand that he can trust me, that he’s supported, and that coming up from underwater is okay.

This is what patience, connection and working at a child’s pace look like. ❤️ We’re not rushing the process; we’re building trust, one little moment at a time.

LET ME MAKE YOUR NEXT SWIM LESSON 10x EASIER! 🏊‍♀️💙

Over 20 years of teaching swimming has taught me one thing: not every child fits into a level, and not every child learns at the same pace.

Many swim schools focus on the level a child is at. I look at things differently.

I look at the child in front of me.

Their age, size, height and individual experiences can all influence their confidence, abilities and how they approach the water.

I look at what they CAN do, where they need support, what challenges they face and how I can help them discover a new strength.

Because to me, there is no such thing as a weakness that defines a child. There are only challenges we can work through, one step at a time.

If a child is ready to progress, why hold them back just because they haven't ticked every box on a level checklist?

Let them grow. Let them try. Let them surprise you. 💙

Because I don't just teach swimming levels. I teach children.

And when you teach the child, you unlock a whole new level of confidence, independence and potential. 🌊✨

There are three things I want you to prepare yourself for when your little one starts their swimming journey with me.
1. You will question yourself.
You may wonder whether your child is ready, whether they are progressing quickly enough, or whether you are doing the right thing by pushing them beyond their comfort zone
2. You will have to trust the process and believe in your child.
There will be days when you feel your child should be further along, days when they surprise you, and days when it seems like we have taken a step backwards.
3. There will be tears. And we cannot always avoid them. 🥹
There may be tears of fear, frustration, uncertainty, or simply because something feels unfamiliar. As a teacher, I understand how difficult it can be to watch your child struggle. But please remember that we never want your child to feel defeated

There is a difference between a child who is genuinely afraid and a child who is simply uncomfortable. As a swimming teacher, it is my job to know the difference. 🌊💙

Every child is different. Some will cry, hesitate, hold on tightly, or resist getting into the water. But as teachers, we cannot assume that every tear means the same thing.

Sometimes, a child is genuinely afraid and needs us to slow down, build trust, create a safe space, and allow them to feel secure. Other times, a child is facing something unfamiliar, something challenging, or something they have not yet learned to believe they can do.

The real skill is knowing when to comfort, when to encourage, and when to gently challenge.

At Finz Aquatics, I believe in meeting every child where they are. I watch their body language, their breathing, their reactions, and how they respond to each little step. Sometimes progress means putting their face in the water. Sometimes it means letting go of the wall. And sometimes, the biggest achievement is simply walking into the pool with a little less fear than yesterday.

We must never force a genuinely frightened child just to get a result. But we must also be careful not to let every moment of discomfort become a reason to give up.

Confidence is not built by removing every challenge. It is built by helping a child face challenges at a pace they can manage, knowing they have someone beside them who believes in them.

And this is something that takes patience, observation, experience, and an understanding of child behaviour.

Because teaching a child to swim is about so much more than teaching strokes. It is about building trust, confidence, resilience, and a belief in themselves that can extend far beyond the pool. 🩵

At Finz Aquatics, we don't just teach children to swim. We help them discover what they are capable of. 🌊

Nameer doesn’t even smile with me normally… but the moment he saw a camera today? 😭📸 SUDDENLY, he’s a whole different child! The personality came OUT! 😂😂
Tuesday swimming lessons are a whole roller coaster 🎢🌊 One minute you’re a swimming teacher, the next minute you’re a therapist, a negotiator, a comedian and a full-time entertainer! 😩🤣

These kids TEST ME like I’ve never been tested before! And the funny part? I’m supposed to be the one teaching THEM, but some days I feel like THEY are teaching ME patience! 😭😂
