The series comprised 8 races sailed in Table Bay during October, November and December 2018.

Lufthansa annually sponsor two series of 8 races, one series from October to December and one from January to March.

In the last 5 years, the crew have won 6 out of the last 10 Lufthansa Twilight series, with 4 second places overall in Class A.

The Hollard Jacana Yacht Racing Team featured on national television last night when a documentary on the Mykonos Offshore Regatta was run on SuperSport.

"Hollard Jacana" finished 2nd overall in Class A and 2nd Overall at the event loosing only to Yacht Phoenix (TP52).

The performance in the Mykonos Offshore Regatta follows a number of other outstanding results recently by the team in other important events, this has put us in a good position to defend our Royal Cape Yacht Club Championships Title.

Other recent results by the team, include:

1st Overall in the RISKAfrica Regatta 2017 (20/21 Oct 2017). Congratulations to the second Hollard team of the event, yacht "Hollard Corum", crewed almost entirely by previously disadvantaged sailors, who finished 2nd Overall.

Lufthansa Twilight Series (8 races -Oct - Dec 2017) - 1st Overall Class A Spinnaker fleet (for the third year in a row)

Novamarine West Coast Offshore 2017 (26/27 Nov 2017, 400kms - Table Bay > Elands Bay > Saldanha Bay) - 2nd Class A, 2nd Overall

Harken Round Robben Island Race (15 Jan 2018) - 1st Class A, 1st Overall.

These results all count towards the Royal Cape Yacht Club Championships.

No yacht has won the RCYC Class A Club Championships twice, except team Hollard, who are aiming to win this year's championships for an unprecedented 5th year in a row. The recent results place the team a single point ahead of "Windpower" owned by Phil Gutsche and skippered by Rick Nankin at this stage of the racing season.

We look forward to a competitive end of season and the team are working hard to achieve another impressive performance this year.

Special thanks as always to Hollard for their continued support.

Hollard Jacana finished second in the Novamarine Overnight Race this weekend. Congratulations to Nitro Racing who had a great final stretch and took the overall win as well as line honours. It was very special to have Steve Meek join us for this event, as the race is in memory of the late Rob Meek.

This event marks the first set of points secured for Hollard Jacana in this years club championships, and we are looking forward to another successful season.

Andrew Jones, below, completed his first overnight offshore race and collects some well deserved rewards.
