Dear Rassie!!!
Jirrrreeee coach, that’s a lot of injuries and major play makers out. Obviously why you have a 70 man squad???
Weekly commentary about the success or failures of the Boks and Bok coach.

The last post for 2026, sad but true!!! What a season, loads to be proud of and so much to look forward to in the ‘26 season.
Let’s deal with the ‘uglies’ first. A loss to Australia and then another to New Zealand in the Rugby Championship. Outside of that, ‘25 would have been perfect. Then the spate of red cards, only one justified. A silly moment of madness from Eben Etsebeth. And while there has been a massive effort made to justify why he did it, two wrongs don’t make a right. It is still bemusing how World Rugby believes ‘their rules’ promote the game. In fact what we have seen is ‘football’ish’ behaviour and drama for the first time. Players lying on the ground in pain after a tickle of a tackle. It will be the death of the game I tell you…. Enough of that drivel it just gets my blood boiling!!!
To the good, the great and the extraordinary. The good, probably genius, strategy Rassie employed some time back, has really started to play itself out. We have more rugby players than most nations, I think only second to the UK. Rassie believes that we should theoretically have 3 or 4 ‘Springbok’ sides ready to go at any time. We certainly saw that during the Outbound Year End tour when the Boks hammered the Welsh with many of the frontline players missing. Note I didn’t call them the ‘B Team’, it’s politically incorrect according to some of our readers.😜I think it would be remiss of me not to mention Tony Brown, and the massive contribution he has made in terms of the backline strategy and our attacking play, just bloody beautiful!!!
There were some great performances, winning the Rugby Championship was superb. However, no win was greater than the win against the Irish. I love the Irish but giving them a klap in their backyard was long overdue. Oh and a close second was the win against France. Their whining fullback never stopped but thank goodness to avail. He is a proper oain in the backside!!!
To the players, well there are so many who deserve a mention. Let’s start with our World Player of the Year, Malcolm ‘the beast’ Marx. I would have called you Thor, but that name belongs to a certain retired number 8. Marx was massive the entire season. He imposed himself on the opposition in every single game he played. Unbelievable talent!!! Then to Sascha Feinberg-Mngomezulu!!! Just wow!!! Rassie tested him, put him in the pressure cooker and he came through with flying colours every time. There are already haters saying he is cocky and arrogant. Take a moment to acknowledge that you are fortunate enough to see the birth of the greatest Springbok of all time. He is a once in a lifetime talent!!!! Siya led the team with aplomb and may we find many more leaders like him. Eben, Pieter-Steph, Ox, Thomas, Jasper, Cobus, Jesse, Damian De Aliende, Kolbe, the list goes on. Incredible performances in every game they played. And to the players who slotted in when the opportunity arose, well done. The entire squad played out of their boots in 2025.
So lekker to finish the season as number 1 in the world. Well deserved, we earned it!!!
In Rassie we trust to take us to the World Cup in 2027. It’s not going to be easy but we’ll be ready.
To all the lekker passionate ‘Dear Rassie’ supporters, dankie, thank you, for an awesome season of opinions, debate and disagreements, but always a lekker laugh. Love you all.
So untill next season, thats a wrap ek se!!!!

Dear Rassie!!!
Here is this team to take on Wales.
This is the ‘real’ team as opposed to the predicted team we posted during the week.
We think this is another A- Team!!! Interesting 7-1 split if you don’t include Andre Esterhuizen as a forward (he is, he isn’t…..) or Kwagga as a back. Go figure!!!! Great to see Franco Mostert in the starting 15.
Your thoughts……and go!!!!

Dear Rassie!!!
NOTE - THIS IS NOT THE TEAM TO PLAY AGAINST WALES, it’s a guess what the team will look like. Thanks to all our loyal readers who pointed out the error.
Let’s keep them guessing should we……..
With many of the “A-Team” back at their clubs (this game is outside of the international window), this team looks a lot like an A-Team.
Your thoughts, and…….go!!!!
