On Wednesday the 12th of December 70 kids had a great time playing soccer with the Woodstock police department at the African Brothers Football Academy. First the ABFA coaches gave the kids special training exercises and afterwards a 5-A-Side tournament capped the day off perfectly. After the tournament the kids and organizers relaxed and ate while enjoying the scenic facilities. Have a look of the photo album and see for yourself.

Dear Friends, family, football supporters and voters!
The African Brothers Football Academy (ABFA) would like to thank you for all your support over the last few years! Your participation, use of our facilities and attendance at our events has allowed our organization to provide a platform where people can enjoy a game of football, where kids can harness and improve their skills, and where talented and committed coaches could find employment by doing what they love. Additional the facility host 20 schools per month.
ABFA currently employs 8 dedicated coaches, whose only source of income is the Academy. ABFA provides coaching to 200 young footballers aged between 8-17, and our football facilities are used by an average of 3000 social players per month.
Our goal (no pun intended) has always been to provide a clean and safe social and learning environment, where everybody who participates, no matter their age, race, gender, social or economic background can spend an enjoyable hour or two playing football.
This dream is now, however, under threat and we urgently need your help!
As you may have heard the City of Cape Town is considering closing our facilities UNLESS our patrons and supporters become more vocal about the value of our facilities, the contribution our initiate has on the community, and the benefit it has for you!
This is the last chance we have to keep the African Brothers Football Academy open, and we thus urge you to please make your support for us know. If we cannot manage to convince the City to change their mind, we will need to close the venue and take down the pitches. Meaning NO MORE FOOTBALL FACILITIES!
So here is how you can help:
Send an email to [email protected]
In the email highlight your support for ABFA , what benefit the facilities have for you and why you think we should stay in operation. We will collect all mails and send it to the council.
We would really appreciate your help and if you have any questions please feel free to let us know! Thank you again for your support over the years, and thank you very much for your continued support!
Best Regards
The ABFA Team

ABFA GENERAL NOTICE
The African Brothers Football Academy is a Proprietary Limited Company that was created and functions for public benefit. ABFA does not and will not distribute its "profits" to shareholders. Any money earned by ABFA is used for the purpose of providing sporting facilities to Schools and people regardless of their ability to pay.
The City of Cape Town has issued ABFA with a closure notice on the basis of it's view that we are operating outside of the relevant consent use applicable to the Campus. As a result of this notice we have taken the necessary steps to ensure that we obtain the correct zoning permit, which will then allow us to function legally as a place of assembly and a place of instruction.
It has always been our mandate to create a benefit to the community by creating a safe space where children and adults can learn and play. It remains our objective to coach children who cannot afford the training fees.
In order to maintain the facilities and the day-to-day administration of ABFA, we encourage all patrons & supporters who make use of our fields to offer a donation, at their discretion.
We therefore are not a business in the strict sense of the word and the monies donated go directly towards the up-keep of the Academy and the provision of coaches and training as well as fees and transport for our children to play in the Tygerberg league.
On behalf of the staff and the coaches who remain committed to the Academy, we would like to thank everyone for their continued support.
Kindly e-mail your queries to [email protected] or contact +27 (0)21 802 3104 within office hours.
