We are fortunate to have a breathtakingly beautiful oasis of diverse marine life right on our doorstep... and we want to share that with you! Cape Scuba Club was founded by experienced divers with a humble respect for the ocean and a passionate love for the sport. INCREDIBLE RARE SIGHTING - Juvenile Oarfish. It's not often a video taken of a fish gets everyone excited, but this one taken the other day by Wavelength Reef Cruises Master Reef Guide Tahn Miller has done just that. This weird and wonderful fish is suspected to be a juvenile Oarfish, they are usually only seen in the dark depths of the ocean, not on shallow coral reefs. A once in a lifetime sighting on the Great Barrier Reef. "Named after their long pectoral fins,these slender fish can grow up to 15m, this one was 35cm or 1.5m including the long fins that look like tentacles.😯Usually found in the Deep Sea (1000m), however due to living solitary lives they can get washed into shallow waters like this one at 2m on Opal Reef" Tahn Spotted first by Jorja Gilmore, filming by Tahn onboard Wavelength Reef Cruises 30/03/2023
