To most of us, Francois Du Toit is synonymous with the name Le Jeune. Francois returned to Lejeune three more times to keep on top of new developments.
Du Toit has been in the cycling business for longer than most, from his days as manager of Nimmo's Cycles in Bellville back in 1972, running his own Boland Moped and Cycle a few years later, managing the wholesale side of Peugeot SA in the cape and finally fulfilling his dream of producing the frames himself. At sixteen, Francois won Junior Western Province racing colours, and in 1968 he was South
African Junior Champion; he was later Western Province Senior Champion for road and for track. After entering into a contract with Lejeune of France, he spent two months in their workshop under an old and very experienced craftsman, Blanchelou, who Francois says was an excellent teacher. Francois du Toit specialises in the needs of the serious and recreational cyclist. Expert advice, based on years of cycling experience, is focused on the manufacture and refitting of road- bikes and tandems. Francois provides specialised advice on cyclist and bike setup.
