Today (2nd of March 2025), was the WPA 5k & Mile road championship incorporating a 5x 2.5km team relay race.

Athletes participated in the 5k and the mile, but the standout result from the day was the UCT team finishing first in the relay race 🏆

Ready, Set, Climb! UCT Campus Climb 2024!

You’ve tackled the legendary UCT stairs daily… but now it’s time to prove who’s the real champion of the climb! Join us (and bring your legs of steel) for the most epic, lung-busting race of the year!

The UCT Athletics Club, in partnership with the Department of Student Affairs, presents the 2024 UCT Campus Climb– where stairway warriors will race from the cricket oval to the peak of campus: Sarah Baartman Hall. No shortcuts, just grit and glory!

For the first time, the UCT 10km Memorial Run will incorporate an Inter-Res Race where UCT residences will go Head-to-Head. 

The res with fastest finishers will be crowned 2024 UCT 10km Res Champion and will receive a trophy. We have two trophies for males and female winning groups. 

In the years to come, the competition will remain a tradition of the UCT Memorial Run and other residences will have the opportunity to contest the trophies from current winners. 

Students in UCT Residences are therefore invited to enter and compete for their res.  

Entry fee for residences has been reduced to R50 to accommodate more students.
