Here are two interesting facts about Taekwon-Do:
Did you know..
1. Origin of the Name – “Tae” means foot (kicking), “Kwon” means fist (punching/striking), and “Do” means the way or path (discipline/lifestyle). Together it means “the way of the foot and fist.”
2. Modern Martial Art – Unlike some martial arts with ancient roots, Taekwon-Do was formally developed in the 1950s in Korea by General Choi Hong Hi, combining traditional Korean fighting styles with influences from Karate.
