Hi to all kiters!! We are busy with the constitution and water rules for the "Kite boarding club" of WYC(worcester yacht club) will send more info as we go on...

1- keep IKO ready...no IKO card no kiting on brandvlei dam
2- will recieve gate code when ur a member(fees) will be anounced later
3- abide by club (wyc) water rules
4- not members..pay at wyc and get key from them...IKO card members
5- beginner must be assited by IKO card holder
6- If ur a senior kiter with no IKO card...then u do a practical kiting test with Darren burger(instructor)

So.... we thinking of getting a windguru tower at the dam where we can get live feed from. Like most of us we don’t want to drive out there for no wind so we need to know what is going on.

A tower cost money and money don't fall from the sky. Anybody that will be keen for a tower and would like to help us with this project please let us know. We will only do when we get permission and then give the go ahead if any payments need to be made.

Lets first see who is keen to help.

Couple of brandvlei locals taking part in the Virgin Armada Guinness world record attempt.

In 2014 the Virgin Kitesurfing Armada Spain broke the recod set in the UK. Currently the Virgin Kitesurfing Armada Spain is still holding the Guinness World Record title for the Largest Parade of Kitesurfers with 352 participants.

Until we broke it today.

The current position until our proposal is accepted by DWAF is as follows:

1. Kite-Surfers check in at WYC office and sign an indemnity. (every time until our membership proposal is approved)

2. A visitor fee of R30 is paid to the club.

3. We provide a copy of the key to use to unlock the gate, and the key is supposed to be returned to us afterwards. (we just need to try and manage this as best we can.)

4. If they are using the water after our rescue is off duty, then they need to be two or more kiters together.
