The Greek Dancing Academy of Cape Town was started in 1976 to teach Traditional Greek Dances to the members of the Hellenic Community of Cape Town, and more specifically to it's children and youth. Since then it has grown and has teachers with a repertoire of dances from all over Greece and Cyprus, as well as the Modern Greek dances (like the Zorba), and teaches anyone of any age. In the Autumn 2013 Edition of the Contact magazine, this is what the President of the HSA (Andrea Coulbanis) wrote in his article about the Greek Dancing Academy of Cape Town:

"In recent years the Greek Dancing Academy of Cape Town has been a mixed group of students and scholars, which was not well attended especially by the students. However with the help of Theo Scholiadis and Valentia Papanicolaou we have managed to start student dance classes at both beginner and advance levels. We currently have 25 students attending the various classes. Classes have started and are accessible to all students. Both the beginner and advanced classes are on the same day, every Wednesday at 8pm at the Greek Club. Please go visit and like our page: https://www.facebook.com/greekdancingcpt"

It is good to see that we have sparked the interest of the Students once again!!
