|Learning to be a guide|
As prepares to guide Sergil through the 10km race with this Sunday, he reflects back on how communication has been integral to their training and how he has learnt valuable lessons through this experience.
Sergil wants the broader community to realise that blind people are easy to run with and that they need guides to help them on their journey!
We encourage anyone who has the desire to be a part of a blind runner's journey to get in touch with . As Sergil says, 'don't be afraid, get out there and take a blind person by the hand and say, let's go!'
If you'd still like to donate to this initiative, hit the link in our bio π
Meet Sergil.
One of our athletes who has been blind for the past 13 years.
Sergil originally struggled with being seen as a 'blind person' but since visiting LOFOB his perspective has changed and he strives to live his life to the fullest everyday!
Sergil always wanted to run, but struggled to find a guide who would be willing to run with him. Through initiative, he feels he's been given the opportunity to get fit and do something he's always wanted to do.
This week, he will train for the last time with his guide to prepare him for the 10km race! If you'd like to help him and other visually impaired people who have a dream to get out and run, please consider donating to .

| Friendship |
We'll be heading into our final week of training with The League of Friends of the Blind next week and we're reflecting back on some really special moments!
Along this journey, our guides and athletes have built such close bonds and pushed through their own challenges to make sure they're ready for the 10km on the 6th of October.
We're asking you, our friends, to be a part of their success and consider donating to this great cause.
We've raised R3300 so far! Let's keep going!
