When one door closes another door opens:
Doors may close, but there are always, other, unlimited number of doors with new opportunities. The world is full of opportunities. The Infinite Power is boundless, and so the possibilities are without number.
Not every plan works out. We don’t always have control over these events, but we can exercise control over our mind and Attitude.
I have decided to explore a new opportunity with another Biokinetics practice (Rainsford and Van Rooyen Biokineticists) within the V&A Waterfront (how exciting). I will be working within the Funtional performance lab where we work with high performance athletes.
I am very excited for this new journey, and would love to share this with you.
Keep an eye out for me.

September......
Muscular Dystrophy Awareness Month
A group of diseases that weaken the muscles of the body, some forms of muscular dystrophy form during childhood, while others begin to appear later in life. These genetic disorders make it difficult to move and often result in the loss of the ability to walk. Currently, there is no cure available to stop or reverse the effects of these conditions, but physical therapy and speech therapy are often used to manage disabilities.

Exercise tips to improve every woman’s health:
With all the challenges faced by women, she can experience significant health benefits by exercising for at least 30 minutes a day. That doesn’t mean having to find time go to the gym and pounding a treadmill for 30 minutes. It is important for
every woman to assess her own lifestyle and plan to fit in either a structured 30 – 60 minutes of exercise daily; or to accumulate the time over a 24-hour period.
The most important factor is to set goals for yourself. Start with realistic goals such as 10 minutes a day of walking, or start training for a 5 km walk.

Throw back Thursday to one of my old posts:
Shoulder Pain|
Shoulder impingement is one of the common shoulder injuries that occurs in individuals. As the arm is lifted, it rubs, or impinges on the rotator cuff tendons as this puts pressure on the underlying soft tissues. This can lead to bursitis and tendinitis (Inflammation), causing pain and limiting movement.
When exercising first try strengthen your arms below shoulder height (You'll feel this is also more comfortable). Important muscles to focus on is strengthening and stabilizing of the rotator cuff muscles, Scapular setting, your back muscles, as well as the muscles at the back of your neck. (Weak neck muscles can also contribute with referring pain from neck to shoulder) . Poor posture and gravity is constantly pulling us forward, therefore it is important that you counteract this during everyday activities. It will take concentration to perform this daily as this “bad habit” occurs easier.
