Ramp Rodeo 3
This past weekend you know we were up at Carnival city for the Ramp Rodeo Stop No. 3
Fueled by Monster Energy at the Gymkhana Grid.
From Saturday morning early it was already clear that this was going to be an awesome action packed weekend with some of South Africa's best Skateboarders and BMXers competing for their piece of the R15000 prize purse.
First up we had Skateboarding with 10 of South Africa's best skating to get their spot in the top 8 for Sunday's Final. We saw the likes of Thalete Biyela , Alan Marola , Puddy Zwennis and many more putting down their best 45sec runs that might get them to Sunday and a bit closer to the money. In the end it was Damian Bramley from Kimberley that qualified first for Sunday and Thalente Biyela winner of stop 2 close on his heels in 2nd .
In Bmx thing got crazy quickly with riders flying over the course doing flairs and tuck no handers and the occasional back flip just to leave the crowd in awe .10 of South Africa's best stomping it down and making the Judges sweat trying to decide who wil be the top 8 for Sunday.
Sunday we started off with the BMX final where from the get go we could see that all the riders were ready and hungry for their piece of the cake. From the 8 the top 4 riders went into a last two 30sec runs to see who will be walking away with the cash. After that we went straight into the skate finals with where from 8 riders they were knocked down to the last top 4 highest scores.
As we were done with the final heats in each discipline there was a 15 minute best trick for each . In BMX it was Murray Loubser that walked away with the Best Trick, a caveman 270 off the Midi-Ramp into the spine. In Skate it was Khule Ngubane with a Nollie frontside bigger spin shovit over the channel. 1st Place in Skate went to Alan Marola with a flawless run and 1st place BMX to Malcolm Peters
Thank you to all the Sponsors that made this happen MONSTER ENERGY , OSP RAMPWORX and ACTION SPORTS AFRICA , see you all soon again .
