Tucked within the Simbithi Eco Estate, this Peter Matkovich design is South Africa’s first executive-style course, a coastal layout built for modern golfers who value both time and challenge.
The routing blends thirteen par 3s, four par 4s, and a single par 5 into rolling coastal hills, with sea breezes and valley views shaping every swing. You’ll use every club in your bag here.
The signature par 3 17th (“Isiqhingana”) drops nearly 30 metres to a small island green, a short but nerve-testing shot that defines Simbithi’s charm. The par 4 14th (“Mhlabathini”) is the brute, stretching over 400 metres to an elevated green where par feels like a victory.
A fast-playing, cart-only course where fun meets finesse. 18 holes in under 3 hours, with just the right amount of bite.

Wanderers Golf Club is one of Johannesburg’s most historic parkland layouts, set in the heart of Illovo beside the city’s famous cricket stadium. Lined with towering oaks, elms and camphor trees, it offers a calm green escape just minutes from the city’s busiest streets.
Once home to the prestigious Lexington PGA Championship for over two decades, Wanderers has hosted legends like Gary Player, Ernie Els, Hale Irwin and Corey Pavin. The routing is classic, with narrow fairways, subtle slopes, and tree-lined doglegs that reward precision and strategy.
The course concludes with the famous uphill par-4 18th — a hole that once decided South Africa’s biggest tournaments — and begins with a welcoming par 5 off the clubhouse tee. Constant upgrades, including a modern irrigation system and new dam at the par-3 sixth, have restored Wanderers to its best form.

Perched high above Knysna on the East Head, Pezula is a course of pure drama, tumbling down towards the Indian Ocean with views that stop you mid-swing. Designed by Ronald Fream and David Dale, it is a masterclass in routing over steep, untamed terrain with only three holes playing uphill.
Each tee shot feels cinematic, with cliffs, lagoon, and ocean all in play. The short par-4 14th is the showstopper, a sloping fairway with a breathtaking approach to a bunkered green framed by endless blue. From the 13th tee, your drive seems to hang in the air forever.
Five sets of tees make Pezula playable for all, but this is a course that rewards boldness. It is cart-only, and rightly so, but the ride is unforgettable.
