It took 4 months and 3 days from the date Liam Bern legally requested his clearance from his previous club after their relegation, until he could officially play for his new team AmaZulu. He followed all the rules. Both the PSL and SAFA eventually judged that he was a free agent.
No apology from anyone for wasting 4 months of a young players life…
Incredible start to his new career starting the match and playing nearly 80 minutes in a 2-0 league win vs Siwelele. We are very proud of his attitude and work ethic during 4 very frustrating months.

We are happy to have helped Durin Phillips with his contract in Dubai. Durin, originally from Hangberg and a former HBUFC player, was club player of the season in the Dubai 2nd Division last season and has now signed for City FC. We wish him every success and hope his performances can open the doors for more young South African players.

Parents, family friends and most importantly, young players, need to be realistic about the chances of becoming a successful professional footballer. Even some of those who ‘make it’ don’t earn enough, or don’t last long enough, to live off their playing careers past their 30th birthday!!
Dream big (& work incredibly hard) but understand the risks and prepare (study) for real life.
