Changing lives through the power of sport since 1990. Provide employment opportunities within a sporting environment.

Founded by the late Brad Bing, Sporting Chance uplifts South African youth with the confidence, teamwork, leadership, and life skills needed to thrive on and off the field. To provide opportunities for sporting achievement and personal development for as many children as possible as they are empowered to become competent, confident and responsible citizens of South African society. Through our sports coaching programmes and community development projects we aim to:

Create awareness amongst the youth, of the value of sport and physical activity in building a bright future. Use sport as a vehicle to educate children about the values of embracing diversity and to equip them with the necessary skills to overcome today’s challenges such as substance abuse, crime, illiteracy and Gender Based Violence (GBV). Get children off the streets, away from their computer games and TV’s and instill in them a love for sport. Develop and nurture individuals to serve as future role models for the country.

Healthy habits start with small steps! 🍎📚💪🏼

At Thabotona Primary School in Katlehong, Mickey and friends join our Disney Champions to bring Disney Healthy Happy Play to life through fun, interactive Physical and Health Education.

From exploring food groups and balanced nutrition to getting active with our coaches, learners discover how eating well and moving more can help them feel good, build strength and stay healthy. ⚽

We’re excited to bring the programme to another under-resourced school in Gauteng, helping create healthier, happier futures for children across South Africa!

A little play goes a long way! 🍎📚⚽

Our Disney Healthy Happy Play programme made its way to Limpopo, bringing movement, learning and plenty of smiles to children in their communities.

Through fun, engaging and interactive sessions, children explore the benefits of physical activity, healthy eating and positive everyday habits.

As Disney Champion Nkosinathi Mthunye shared: “Thank you for the opportunity to keep our kids healthy. They’re enjoying the programme.”

A big thank you to Disney for sponsoring the programme and helping us create opportunities for children to learn, play, and build healthier habits!

Spring School Holiday Clinics: the impact in action.🇿🇦

⚡️Over 900 children showed up, got active, and got involved across 7 shopping centre-based communities in 4 provinces.

⚡️8 Coordinators and 65 community coaches were employed, creating opportunities for skills development and meaningful work within their communities.

⚡️Children participated in team sports, developing skills through soccer, rugby, and netball.

⚡️Girls stepped up, got involved, and built confidence, creating more opportunities to participate through sport.

⚡️Participants learned beyond the playing field, exploring healthy lifestyles, personal hygiene, safety and healthy relationships, GBV, problem-solving, respect and responsibility.

⚡️They connected, challenged themselves and grew, building new skills, confidence and positive relationships through the power of sport.

We are grateful to Capital Land Sport for Youth and the Community Property Fund for their continued support in creating safe spaces for children and bringing quality sport, development opportunities and positive experiences to children and communities across South Africa.

🏃‍♀️⚽🏏Active holidays, the Sporting Chance way!

Our Coaching Services brought loads of sport, fun and positive energy to our young Sporting Chancers these Spring school holidays.

From soccer and cricket for ages 6–13 to multisport activities for ages 4–5. The fields were busy and the coaches were full of vibe keeping the children active, engaged and enhancing their skills!

Thanks to our passionate coaches who bring every session to life, to our Sporting Chance participants & parents who make it possible and to our partners/sponsors who help us make these experiences special.

Healthy.💪🏼 Happy.😃 Play.🤸🏾

The Disney Healthy Happy Play programme is about more than getting children active. This Term 3, our Disney Champions have been delivering a structured life-skills programme for a group of Grade 4–7 learners across five provinces in South Africa.

Through engaging sessions, learners explore key themes including personal hygiene, healthy nutrition, mental well-being, and confidence, while play, movement and fun remain central to the experience.

As Term 3 comes to an end, we’re proud to see how the programme supports children beyond the sports field, helping them develop healthy habits, build confidence and strengthen the life skills they need to thrive.💫
