Springbok prop Zachary Porthen lived out a childhood dream on Saturday when he ran out in the iconic against Japan.

At just 21 years old, he became the youngest prop to debut for Boks in the professional era, a moment that will inspire many young players across the country.

Despite the big stage and the pressure, Porthen looked right at home.
He held his own in the scrums, hit 13 rucks, made nine tackles, and produced a strong carry of seven metres in a hardworking 48-minute shift in the wet conditions at Wembley.

A true product of South African Schools Rugby and now furthering his journey through Stadio Higher Education, Porthen’s story is a reminder to young athletes that discipline, education, and opportunity can work hand-in-hand.

A proud moment for him, his former school, and the next generation watching.
