💜 Girls Club #4 | SSC × Liv | Women’s Month Ride | Flourish Donation Drive

Join us on Sunday, 16 August for a special Women’s Month Girls Club Ride in collaboration with Liv.

📍 Meet: Active Hobo, Westlake
🕖 Time: 07:00 for a 07:30 roll out

🚴 Route Options

🚴 60km Route (21/23km/hr)
Tokai → Muizenberg → Simon’s Town → Smitswinkel → Scarborough → Kommetjie → Fish Hoek → Main Road → Tokai

🚴 80km Route (24/26 km/hr)
Tokai → Muizenberg → Simon’s Town → Smitswinkel → Scarborough → Kommetjie → Black Hill → Main Road → Tokai

This isn’t a complete beginner ride, but if you’re comfortable riding in a group and confident with the distance and pace, you’ll fit right in. We will also regroup at the top of the big climbs and have leads & sweeps so no one gets left behind ✨

Expect stunning scenery, plenty of chats, a few spicy climbs and coffee together afterwards at Bootlegger ☕️✨

🌸 Flourish Moms Donation Drive 🌸

This ride is also a collection point for donations in support of the Flourish Programme, which supports pregnant women and mothers during the critical first 1,000 days of a child’s life through maternal support, nutrition and early childhood development.

We will be collecting the following products:
💖 Hygiene products (especially sanitary pads)
💖 Wet wipes or disposable nappies
💖 Baby clothes or blankets (new or pre-loved)
💖 Baby books or educational toys (new or pre-loved)
💖 Baby toiletries (soap, bum cream, Vaseline, cotton wool, surgical spirits)
💖 Toiletries for mums (soap, roll-on, toothbrushes, toothpaste)
💖 Face cloths for mum and baby

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help support local mums and babies. Thank you for helping us make a difference this Women’s Month. 💜

South Side First Birthday Party 🎈

A whole year of rides, coffee stops, friendships, adventure and an incredible community!!❤️

So we thought we should celebrate it properly 🙂‍↔️

We’re hosting a SSC Birthday Party at Aegir in Noordhoek — just a good evening to hang out, look back on the year and enjoy it with the people who’ve made it what it is.

🎟️ Tickets are R350 and include:

• ⁠One drink (beer / G&T / wine / soda)

One dentist waiting room, one Black Friday deal and one optimistic “yes” later, Richard found himself on the start line of THE GALLOWS : 110km of gravel, river crossings, sneaky climbs, rocky singletrack and a brutal final ascent up Galgeberg.

With a South Side Cycles crew, a Gallows-specific training block from Sarah Maré and plenty of support along the way, what started as a WhatsApp message turned into an absolutely brutal yet incredible experience.

What a gorgeous morning with a wonderful bunch of ladies 🫶

ONE YEAR OF SOUTH SIDE CYCLES 🎉🥹

On 23 June 2025, we hosted our very first South Side Cycles group ride. One year later, we’re celebrating our first birthday the best way we know how — on our bikes, with our community.

Join us on Tuesday 23 June 2026, for a special birthday ride from Active Hobo 🎈

📍 Meet: Active Hobo, Westlake
⏰ Meet from 05:30am for pre-ride goodies
🚴 Roll out at 06:00 sharp
📏 30km out-and-back to Simon’s Town
🍰 Post-ride coffee, croissants & community at Active Hobo

We will have 2 or 3 pace groups on the day. One of those pace groups will be a super mellow, no-drop group (beginner friendly 🫶)

All bikes, all paces and all riders are welcome.
