πEyes Down, Body Straight! πββοΈ
Did you know that where you look can have a big impact on your swimming?π
Looking too far forward causes your head to lift, which can make your hips and legs sink. This creates more drag in the water and makes swimming harder than it needs to be!
β
Keep your eyes looking down towards the bottom of the pool
β
Keep your head in a neutral position
β
Allow your body to stay long, straight and balanced in the water
A small adjustment can make a big difference to your swimming efficiency and confidence! ππ

β¨ Did you know? β¨
πββοΈ Olympic swimmers can lose up to 10 litres of sweat during races and training sessions, even while surrounded by water? π¦
π Because sweating isnβt as noticeable in the pool, itβs important for swimmers to stay well hydrated before, during and after swimming π₯€

π¦ Did you know? π¬
The dolphin kick used in butterfly is so powerful that swimmers use it underwater during starts and turns in almost every race! π
In fact, many swimmers call the underwater dolphin kick the βfifth strokeβ because it can be even faster than swimming on the surfaοΈce.β¨

πβ The butterfly stroke actually started as a faster version of the breaststroke!
In the 1930s, swimmers began recovering their arms over the water instead of pushing them forward underneath, giving them a real speed advantage in races. Soon after, they paired this with the dolphin kick (both legs moving together), making the stroke even more powerful.
It worked so well that this βnew styleβ eventually became its own official stroke in the 1950s.
What started as a clever way to win races turned into one of the most powerful and challenging strokes in swimming π¦

πββοΈStart Before It Becomes a Requirement πββοΈ
Swimming isnβt just a school milestone, itβs a vital life skill.
Too often, families wait until swimming is required at school and children then have to catch up quickly. Starting earlier gives your child the advantage of time.
Allowing them to build confidence, comfort, and ability in the water at their own pace.
At Swimmable, we focus on creating a positive foundation from the very beginning, so children feel safe, confident, and happy in and around water.
π Early start = stronger confidence
π Familiarity in the water builds naturally over time
π Skills develop best without pressure or rush
Give your child the opportunity to feel prepared long before it becomes necessary.
π The best time to start is now, not later.

π¦ Swim Tip Tuesday π¦
The more relaxed you are in the water, the easier swimming becomes!
πIf your body feels stiff or tense, try taking a deep breath and gently blowing bubbles into the water. This helps you relax, control your breathing and feel more comfortable in the pool.
πββοΈWhen we hold our breath or tense up, our bodies often become rigid and swimming can feel much harder. Staying calm helps you float better, move more easily and build confidence in the water.
β¨Next time you are in the pool, take a moment to breathe, relax and trust the water.
Small changes can make a big difference! π
20/04/2026
πββοΈ Taking the Leap πββοΈ
For both children and adults, jumping or diving into the pool can feel like a big step. It means trusting the water, putting your face in and letting your body move into something unfamiliar. β¨
Some people jump or dive in straight away, while others take a little longer and that is completely okay. π
πββοΈIt can feel scary because you may worry about going underwater, not knowing what to expect or simply losing control for a moment. Some people stop halfway or hesitate because they are still learning to trust the water and build confidence.
π¦The good news is that confidence grows with time, patience and practice. Every small step matters. Whether it is sitting on the edge, jumping in or trying your very first dive.
There is no rush. One day it feels scaryβ¦ the next, you are doing it with a smile. β¨

π Meet the Faces Behind the Smiles π
Our coaches are so much more than swimming teachers. They are cheerleaders, confidence builders and a safe space for every swimmer who walks through our doors. π
β¨From celebrating the smallest victories to helping swimmers overcome their fears, our team is passionate about creating a positive and supportive environment in every lesson.
Every coach brings patience, encouragement and plenty of fun to the pool, helping each swimmer grow at their own pace. πββοΈ
β¨We are so grateful for the incredible team that makes Swimmable such a special place.

π Why Swimming Isnβt as βNaturalβ as You Thinkβ¦π
Humans canβt naturally breathe and swim at the same time, It's a skill that needs to be learned. Thatβs where timing and rhythm come in.β±οΈ
Learning when to breathe, how to move, and how to stay calm in the water is what builds confident, safe swimmers. π
At Swimmable, we focus on developing these skills step by step, helping little ones feel comfortable, capable, and in control in the water. πββοΈ
Because swimming isnβt just about movingβ¦
Itβs about breathing, rhythm, and confidence. β¨

πββοΈSwimming burns more energy than most people realize because your body is constantly trying to stay warm.
πWater pulls heat away from the body about 25 times faster than air, so even in a warm pool your body is working to maintain its temperature while you swim.
That means swimmers are not only using energy to move through the water but also to keep their body warm.
πThatβs one reason kids often say theyβre very hungry after swimming lessons!

π It is Grading Week at Swimmableπ
Here at Swimmable, your childβs progress matters and it happens faster than you think! Thatβs why we assess swimmers every term, not just once a year.

-Children move up as soon as theyβre ready.
β Better confidence
-Regular achievements keep them motivated.
β Focused learning
-We can spot areas that need a boost and adjust teaching right away.
β Safety first
-Consistent check-ins ensure swimmers master each STAnley skill safely and correctly.
At Swimmable, every splash, kick, and glide counts. ππββοΈ
