Shakira O'Malley visited our Cape of Storms Girls team yesterday, joining them for a training session. Currently residing in the United States, she has been back home after being selected to play for Banyana Banyana against Botswana and Zambia. We are immensely proud of Shakira, who recently earned her finance degree from the University of Michigan. Well done, Shakira—we are super proud of you! 💚

In a game that will live long in the memory of those in attendance, Cape of Storms FC First Team pulled off a remarkable comeback to defeat Southend FC 4-3 in a thrilling Premier League clash at Ocean View Sports Field.

Despite entering the match on the back of some strong recent results, Cape of Storms faced a tough challenge with several key players missing from the squad. That absence showed in the first half, as the visitors took control and raced to a 2-0 lead before the break.

The second half began much the same - but then everything changed.

Cape of Storms found their rhythm and began turning the tide against a visibly tiring Southend side. Wave after wave of pressure finally paid off, and what followed was a breathtaking second-half performance that saw the home team score four goals to sn**ch an unforgettable 4-3 victory.

The goals came from Chadlin Brown (⚽⚽), Limanye Matshoba (⚽), and Lihle Mzele (⚽), who were instrumental in driving the comeback.

Head coach Denzel Sam was full of praise for his team after the final whistle:
"I take my hat off to each and every player. They showed that they are real men who fight against adversity to conquer the opposition. This is how you become successful. This is what happens when the players start buying into the coaching philosophy and they start building belief in their fellow players."

Cape of Storms FC Second Team secured their first win of the season with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Southend FC Second Team at the Ocean View Sports Field on Sunday.

Coming into the match with two draws and two defeats from their opening four games, the pressure was on, and the team delivered. The first half was a struggle, with Southend asking plenty of questions, but Cape of Storms held firm and went into the break level at 1-1.

After the interval, the home side turned up the heat. Dominating possession and pushing high up the pitch, Cape of Storms created a string of chances and looked the more likely to score. Although only one more goal found the net, it was enough to seal the win, with the team unlucky not to add another two or three.

The goals came courtesy of Chadlin Brown and Oyithando Ndamase, whose efforts gave the team a vital three points and a much-needed morale boost.

After the match, coach Jacques Heath praised the performance:
"The guys did very well today, they were aggressive and fulfilled their potential. At half time we spoke about the high press and it brought about goals. I am very proud of the boys and hopefully we can maintain this form moving forward."

A thrilling encounter under the lights at Generations Sports Ground saw the Cape of Storms Second Team battle to a hard-fought 2-2 draw against a spirited Rising Stars side on Monday evening.

Rejano Booysen was once again the standout performer for Cape of Storms, continuing his excellent form by netting both goals for the team. His brace proved crucial in a match that saw chances flow at both ends, with each side pushing for a winner right until the final whistle.

In what was a highly competitive fixture, both teams showcased great determination, quality, and commendable sportsmanship throughout. Despite several opportunities for either side to grab all three points, a draw was a fair reflection of the game.

The boys will take heart from the performance and look to build on the momentum as the season progresses. Well done to everyone involved!

📋 Match Report: Tough Day for Cape of Storms U16 ⚽️

It was a tough outing for the Cape of Storms U16s, who fell to a 10-0 defeat against a strong Seaside U16B side on Saturday at Generations Sports Ground.

Seaside found too much space in midfield early on and put the game out of reach before halftime in what was a one-sided contest. Coach Marco O'Malley acknowledged the result but promised vast improvement as injured players return and key signings are registered in the coming week.

This match will serve as a valuable learning experience for the young side, with much better results expected in the near future. It's worth noting that the Seaside B team is a handpicked squad with professional ambitions - a tough test for any opponent.
