Still got the 1 arm push-ups down but was quite a challenge! Also closing in on the 1 arm pull-ups.
Body getting back into shape now but still feeling a bit heavy, but not so bad for almost 2 months back.

Working on my . The thing that used to be impossible now feels so close. Just need to build some more shoulder flexibility and leg strength.
Last week I couldn't transition from fist to backhand and now it's not so bad. Surpring how these exercises actually relieve pain and tightness in the hands, you'd think it would cause the pain.
Nowhere near the prettiest anymore but actually glad I can still (somewhat) do this. In my 4th week of training and I'm finally starting to feel lighter (I'm the same weight), get more flexible and getting less gym and day to day pain.
Started this week with 10 warm up pull-ups and felt good. The first week I was on 5 and I weighed 3kg less!
Body still sore and tired from last week's session.
This was my first attempt at planche training this week and well, it didn't get much better than this.
In all I did
8 warmup pull-ups.
3 rounds of 2 muscle ups (couldn't do more without momentum)
4 rounds of Korean dips
4 rounds of these planche attempt things with some splits holds before attempt.
Body slowly adapting to getting back into it.

You are what you eat! This time around I am trying to post a little bit more info and my personal tips/tricks along the way.
So in over 4 years of not training, I didn't gain fat or lose much muscle (my muscles did get softer tho). My wife who had a baby 1 year ago (natural) has already dropped back to her original weight (a couple months ago) and with no exercise either. After repeatedly being told 'wait till you are 30' - I'm almost 32 now and people telling my wife 'wait till you have a kid'. So now both those happened and we still in shape and HEALTHY.
You don't need to eat a little (I eat at least 5 meals a day to gain weight), you need to eat nutrient dense and a diversity of nutrients. This is why I started .
This is one of the easy health meals. It's a mix of seeds, a mix of nuts (raw, unsalted and no peanuts), some muesli (granola), 3 tablespoons of raw yogurt (full cream plain yogurt is fine) a a teaspoon of honey. This a great filler meal and if you add some biltong and a fruit then it will be a full meal!
I'M BACK!
So my 2nd last post was 8 November 2017! That's over 4 and a half years of no training. Life has been a bit nonstop and now I am 1 year old boy haha.
My clients and son recently inspired me to get back into because carrying a baby for hours is not easy. Running after a baby ALL day is not easy. So here I am training to keep fit enough to play with my child and strong enough to be able to play with him when I am old! This is why I am reposting, I want to document my journey and hopefully inspire others, that you can get fit and healthy after a child.
I am now in my 3rd week of training. The first week I was doing 1 and a half handstand push-ups and my eyes felt like they were going to pop but now I'm already at 4.5 so coming along nicely. For some reason I can still run 25km/h on the skill mill and I can still dealift 150kg (about 75% of my max ever). It's coming back but I can feel I'm not exactly young anymore. I don't have that show off factor pushing me anymore, I feel extremely heavy despite being lighter than back then. I'm slower and stretching almost hurts. It's a strange feeling, like in your 20s you get the facepack, then all of a sudden it's removed and some fuel economy package was installed.
If all goes well, in the future I will create a dad and mom bod training program. One for the overachiever and one for the average layman who just wants to stay fit and healthy enough to keep up with kids.
