RECCE TWO ROUND UP 🦇
Defy The Dark: Night Two.
We gathered at Gardens as the last light faded and stepped together into the mountain. Headlamps flickered on and soon a ribbon of light climbed the switchbacks of Platteklip above the city.
We then pushed on to summit Lions Head and through the quiet rhythm of the night - just runners, rock underfoot and Cape Town glowing far below.
A few hours moving as one with the mountain.

RECCE ONE ROUND UP 🦇
Defy The Dark: Night One.
With the last light fading behind them runners set off from Gardens into the mountain and slowly became one with the dark. Devil’s Peak put strength into the legs, Maclear’s Beacon offered a moment of stillness, and the night settled around us in that quiet, electric way only Cape Town can deliver.
A ribbon of light traced the skyline while the city flickered below, and for a few hours we moved in rhythm with the mountain at home in the dark.
Next up - Recce Two is a date with the night:

The Tafelberg Aid Station at Batrun 2025 was absolutely buzzing! ✨
Nestled at the base of Platteklip Gorge, this sole aid station transformed into a night-run party, overflowing with gees, good vibes, and the music of cowbells. Runners passed through twice, after descending Devil’s Peak en route to Maclear’s Beacon, and again before heading toward Lion’s Head. 🌒
Runners were met with an electrifying atmosphere that propelled them deeper into the night. This unforgettable night showcased the unparalleled camaraderie and passion that define this iconic event. 🖤
