Instead of packing in sodas for your kids at school, Try giving them water instead.
You've heard it before but here's WHY...
(Save this post for later if you don't have time to read it all now!)

Water requirements for children:
between ages 5 and 8 require 5 glasses a day
between ages 9 and 12 require 7 glasses a day
ages 13+ require between 8-10 glasses a day.

Dehydration means that your body doesnโ€™t have enough water to function properly. Seventy-five percent of people (including children) are chronically dehydrated.

Even mild dehydration will:

-slow down your childโ€™s metabolism as much as 3% and cause fatigue
-cause your child to feel grumpy or tired
-give your child headaches

Most of us know why we should drink water,
But why aren't Sodas enough to keep them going?

1. It's addictive.
Like any sugar! It's also addictive because of the caffeine content inside it. If adults can be addicted to it, so can kids!

2. Soda has NO NUTRITIONAL VALUE
So it's basically empty calories that stops your child from wanting to eat their nutritional foods later.

3. Soda is harming childrens brains
This is because of all the excitotoxins that are inside it.
Excitotoxins cause brain tumors, learning disabilities, brain damage, alzheimers disease, Parkinsons, and behavioral problems. It also contains Aspartame which bring on the same affects long term

4. Soda is weakening kids bones.
Drinking Soda regularly can deplete the bones of calcium, which is much needed in kids growing strong and healthy bones.

5. Soda causes bad behavior.
In a study, 3000 mothers reported that children drinking soda were more aggressive, withdrawn, or had trouble focusing. This is due to the high sugar levels, caffeine, artificial coloring and blood sugar spikes. Yikes!

6. Soda destroys teeth. Basically, soda in the long run causes tooth erosion.

7. Soda is a contributing cause of Childhood diabetes.
What's really scary is that just drinking soda in moderation may not reduce this risk.
According to Medicalnewstoday "The National Diabetes Statistics Report 2020 states that around 210,000 children and teenagers under the age of 20 years in the United States have diagnosed diabetes."

8. Soda causes kids to become overweight
Even choosing diet soda to avoid sugar wonโ€™t prevent this, because aspartame increases sugar cravings by telling the brain to consume more.

9. Soda can lead to heart disease.
Just one soda a day can increase the risk of a cardiovascular event by 61%

10. Soda can inhibit Digestion
Soda and caffeine are diuretics and can cause dehydration, especially if you're having sodas instead of water. Sugar and caffeine increase the level of acids in the stomach. Say hello to IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome)

So with all that in mind, I'm sure we all want to know how we can get children to drink more water. I've added a few ideas below. Comment which ones you want to try with your kids!
