𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗡𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗖𝗔𝗠𝗣 𝟭: 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗻.

While the outdoor teams head to Europe for the FIH Hockey World Cup, we're knuckling down and ramping up our own preparations for our upcoming calendar.

With coaching staff heading to Cape Town, our first alignment camp brough

Head coach Calvin Price had this to say: "A great start to the planned alignment camps for the SPAR SA Womens Indoor Hockey squad. This was great for the squad to get the fundamentals right and back on the court!

We are looking forward to being in Johannesburg at the end of the month and Durban in the middle of September as we prepare for a potential series in October, and to defend our Nkosi Cup in Cape Town in December".

A big thank-you to Milnerton High School for sharing their court with us, and Nita van Rensburg (Sports Coordinator / Director of Hockey) for helping make it all happen.

Cheree Greyvenstein officially closes the chapter on an outstanding international career, leaving behind a legacy built on commitment, passion and pride in the green and gold.

From huge saves in pressure moments to the quieter moments behind the scenes that teammates will never forget, Cheree has been far more than just a goalkeeper to this group.

This carousel celebrates some of those memories, alongside messages from teammates who shared the journey with her.

𝗦𝗤𝗨𝗔𝗗 𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧.

After the recent Indoor Hockey IPT held in Durban, the selectors got to work making some tough decisions while mapping the path to the 2029 Indoor Hockey World Cup.

Jamie Southgate, South Africa's most capped active player with 111 caps to her name, had this to say about the new squad: “Grateful for another opportunity to be a part of this special group. There is real talent and potential in this squad and I am excited for what lies ahead.”

While Dalan Phillips, Convenor of Selectors, says "This is a very exciting group. There is a strong base of experience, but also a number of players who have put up their hands through performance and consistency."

We're excited for what the year ahead holds for the squad, as we continue on our journey to the 2029 Indoor Hockey World Cup.

𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗕𝗢𝗔𝗥𝗗𝗦.

While the selectors finalise the 2026 squad and we continue to build, we thought we'd share some insights on the Most Capped Players of all time... as well as the Leading Goalscorers from those still active.

While Jess has an impressive 132 caps to her name, Jamie leads the appearances in green & gold from the active squad, with 111 appearances. Who do you think will be next to reach the 100 cap milestone?

On the sharp end, Celia has 80 goals to her name from her 68 appearances. While Tegan is hot on her heels, with 77 goals from her 81 tests.
