OKUMA NEMESIS 14'6" | 3–5 OZ

THE PERFECT ALL-ROUNDER FOR EDIBLES

A beautiful-looking rod with a clean, simple cosmetic design, the Okuma Nemesis 14'6" 3–5oz is built for anglers who want versatility without sacrificing performance.

Light and comfortable enough for long scratching sessions, yet with the backbone needed when a better fish comes along.

The soft, responsive tip is a real advantage when targeting hard-fighting species like blue fish. They fight well above their size, and the softer tip allows you to enjoy the fight without having to overpower the fish.

During an afternoon solo session, the Nemesis accounted for a solid blue fish and a young poensi. The cracker was released, while the blue fish went home for supper.

From scratching for edibles to putting pressure on a quality fish, the Okuma Nemesis 14'6" 3–5oz is a true all-rounder.

Light in the hand. Sensitive on the bite. Strong when you need it.

CARP AND PIGNOSE GRUNTER>>
Three years later and the Okuma Ceymar HD CHD-5000XA is still my number one choice for fishing the Bergrivier with bait.

Targeting White Steenbras in the Bergrivier Estuary with prawn baits always keeps you guessing. With the tide pushing saltwater in from Laaiplek Harbour and freshwater flowing down in winter, you never know what will pick up your bait next.

This healthy carp came in between the Steenbras and put the Ceymar HD to the test with powerful head shakes and long drag-pulling runs.

After landing big Blue Rays, Leeries and plenty of river monsters over the past three years, this reel keeps proving why it's one of the best value spinning reels around. The drag is still silky smooth, the build is incredibly durable, and it's a reel I'd confidently recommend to any angler looking for quality that lasts.

Who's fishing the Bergrivier this season?

LONG CASTS. TOUGH CONDITIONS. THE NEMESIS DELIVERED.

When the banks are rolling and the fish are sitting that little bit further out, confidence in your tackle makes all the difference. That's exactly where the Okuma Nemesis 15ft 4–6oz shines.

Built on a 36-ton Toray carbon blank and fitted with Fuji K-Series guides and a Fuji DPS reel seat, the Nemesis is designed to deliver serious casting distance, lightweight performance, and the backbone needed for demanding rock and surf fishing.

The fishing was tough, with banks rolling every now and then, so the choice was simple – the 15ft 4–6oz for maximum casting distance. The result? A 65cm juvenile Kob, proving that even when conditions are challenging, getting your bait into the right zone can make all the difference.

A quality cast. A solid hookup. Another fish on the beach.

FROM GARRICK TO KOB... AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN.

When it comes to light-tackle spinning, versatility is everything. Whether you're working an estuary for Garrick, throwing lures off the bricks for Kob, or chasing whatever decides to eat next, the Okuma Psycho Stick has become the first rod I reach for.

Built on a light, responsive blank and fitted with premium Fuji components, it delivers long, accurate casts while still having the backbone to handle bigger fish when they turn up. It's just as enjoyable on smaller species, making it a true all-round performer for saltwater anglers.

Paired with the Okuma Safyre 3000, it's a lightweight combo that's ready for river mouths, rocky points, and everything in between.

Psycho Stick Features:

Fuji FazLite K-Series guides

OPP protective pattern wrap

Psychedelic marbled EVA grips

Light, responsive blank with impressive fish-fighting power

Technique-specific models, including bass and 4-piece travel options that are equally at home in the salt

One rod. Endless possibilities.

Sunrise sessions hit different

Put the new Okuma X-Series 11ft XH spinning rod to work this morning and it did not disappoint. Insanely light, super sensitive, and packed with power — this rod is on another level. Feels like you’re holding nothing, but handles fish like a beast.

Managed to land two solid kob on Paddle Tails in the early hours, fish were kept in a deep pool, pictured and safely released.

Nothing beats that combination of fresh air, crashing waves, and tight lines.
