How to get more spin⬇️🏏

It all comes down to your alignment before delivery. Here’s the difference between a beginner setup and an advanced leg spinner:

❌ The Beginner Mistake (Front-On):
Opening your chest and hips too early forces a front-on delivery. This limits your body rotation, reduces revs on the ball, and cuts down your turn.

✅ The Advanced Technique (Side-On):
Stay side-on during your jump and gather! This alignment allows full hip-to-shoulder separation, helping you drive through the ball and generate maximum spin off the pitch.

Save this for your next net session! 📌

How to improve your off-spin⬇️

❌ The Wrong Side:

• Too straight: A delivery stride that is too straight down the line limits your ability to create the necessary rotation on the ball.

• Too front-on: Being too front-on restricts your hip and shoulder rotation, which prevents you from maximizing your natural spin potential.

✅The Right Side:

• Get more side-on: Rotating your body to be more side-on allows you to use your whole core to generate power and spin.

• Drive over your left foot: Properly planting and driving over your left foot creates a firm front-side anchor, which provides the leverage needed to whip the ball out of your hand with increased accuracy and turn.

The secret to getting more run outs⬇️⬇️

If you want to create more run-out opportunities, you need to use a short barrier instead of stopping front-on.

What is the short barrier?⬇️

It’s an infield technique where you stay on your feet and pick up the ball in stride, allowing you to throw without stopping your movement.

How it works:

❌ Amateur: Bends straight over from the front, comes to a complete stop, and wastes time getting set before throwing.

✅ Pro (Short Barrier): Stays low on the approach, picks up off the throwing-side foot, and uses forward momentum to release the ball immediately.

How to play a perfect cut shot⬇️

❌ The wrong way:
• Lifting your back leg off the ground.
• Losing balance and stability.
• Cutting off your power by being unstable.

✅ The correct way:
• Keep your feet grounded and balanced.
• Maintain a stable base to generate power.
• Keep your eyes on the ball through impact.

Block Like a Pro⬇️⬇️⬇️

Footwork and Posture:

• The Wrong Way (❌): Lunging blindly down the pitch with a rigid front foot and weight stuck on the back foot.

• The Right Way (✅): Moving decisively to the pitch of the ball with your head aligned over your front knee and weight shifting smoothly forward.

Bat Swing and Point of Contact:

• The Wrong Way (❌): Slashing at the ball with a hard, loose grip or a flashing bat swing away from your body.

• The Right Way (✅): Keeping a compact, straight-bat swing with soft hands at the exact moment of impact to absorb the bowler’s pace.

Rebound and Safety:

• The Wrong Way (❌): Allowing the ball to bounce off the shoulder of the bat or edge awkwardly into the slips.

• The Right Way (✅): Deadening the ball safely straight down into the pitch or rolling it harmlessly away from the stumps.
