ERA South Africa

ERA Real Estate has been in the business of fulfilling the dream of home ownership since 1972 as Electronic Realty Associates. Today, it is the fourth largest real estate brand in the world. It all started with the ambition and imagination of a man named Jim Jackson, who saw the potential not only in selling property, but also in capitalizing on technology. Long before the fax machine became a household word, ERA Real Estate was using it to sell homes. Known to ERA customers as "The Moving Machine," it was an unprecedented national marketing resource, which could serve the burgeoning relocation market by transmitting listings from anywhere in the country (USA) to any ERA location. ERA was also the first international Real Estate group to enter the African continent. Since 1993, when a master licensing agreement with ERA Franchise Systems Inc. (USA) was concluded, it has grown to be a formidable player within the Real Estate industry in South Africa. ERA Franchise Systems Inc.(USA) is a subsidiary of the Realogy Franchise Group in the USA, which is the largest franchisor of residential and commercial real estate brokerages in the world. In South Africa, ERA South Africa (PTY) LTD. is a subsidiary of Jigsaw Holdings (PTY) LTD., which is the largest real estate brand manager in South Africa. It has 4 major real estate brands in its stable which serves a large cross-section of buyers and sellers through more than 300 branded offices across the country.
