🌍🏆 CJS Coaches Selected to represent South Africa! 🏆🌍

Centurion Junior Squash is incredibly proud to congratulate two of our coaches on their selection to the official South African Masters Squad that will compete at the World Masters Championships in Perth, Australia from 30 August – 6 September 2026.

They are:
Trevor Wilkinson 65 - 69
Melanie Knibbs 70 -74

This achievement is a reward for years of dedication, discipline, and passion for the sport. While our players often see these coaches guiding and encouraging others from the sidelines, it is wonderful to see them earning the opportunity to wear the green and gold themselves.

Our coaches do far more than teach squash skills. They lead by example, demonstrating the values of hard work, commitment, perseverance, and lifelong learning. Their selection sends a powerful message to our junior players: dreams do not have an age limit, and excellence is achieved through consistent effort over time.

We are proud and privileged to have them as part of the CJS coaching family and thank them for the positive impact they make in the lives of so many young players.

We wish them every success as they prepare to represent South Africa on the world stage. May this be an unforgettable experience and one that inspires the next generation of CJS players to dream big and work hard.

🇿🇦 Congratulations and all the very best in Perth!

🎉 What a wonderful morning of squash at our CJS Social Saturday on 30 May at Midstream Ridge Courts and Irene Country Club!

Many players arrived feeling a little nervous and unsure of themselves. We had our regular customers but some players had never played a match before, while others were stepping onto court with very little confidence. Yet, as the morning unfolded, something special happened.

Friendships were made, confidence grew, smiles appeared, and before we knew it, we could hardly get the players off the courts! 💚

That is exactly what Social Saturday is all about — creating a safe and enjoyable environment where players can learn, grow, challenge themselves, and discover just how much they are capable of.

A heartfelt thank you to all our parents for supporting these events and encouraging your children to keep stepping out of their comfort zones. Your support makes these opportunities possible.

A special word of thanks to the parents who contributed towards the fundraising efforts for Starla Phillips and Juan-Corné Brand as they prepare to represent South Africa at the World Junior Championships in Canada this July. Your generosity and support mean so much and help make dreams like these possible.

We would also like to thank Midstream Ridge and Irene Country Club for allowing us the use of their excellent facilities and for helping us create memorable experiences for our players.

🏆 "Success is not measured by the score, but by the courage to keep learning and improving."

We are incredibly proud of every player who stepped onto court and gave it their best.

64 CJS PLAYERS SELECTED FOR PROVINCIAL COLOURS 2026

At Centurion Junior Squash we often remind our players that success does not happen overnight. It is built through small daily decisions, early mornings, difficult training sessions, sacrifices, disappointments, discipline, perseverance, and the courage to keep showing up even when nobody is watching.

Today we celebrate the reward of that journey.

We are incredibly proud to announce that 64 CJS players have been selected to represent their province in 2026.

Behind every selection lies hours and hours on court, countless matches, fitness sessions, travel, emotional ups and downs, and a commitment to growth one step at a time. These achievements belong first and foremost to the players who chose to keep believing in the process.

We would also like to sincerely thank the schools who continue to support and encourage squash as a sport. Your involvement, flexibility, facilities, and belief in these young players play an important role in helping them grow both as athletes and young people.

To our parents — thank you for your unwavering support and sacrifices. The financial commitment, travelling, time spent waiting at courts, tournament weekends, and emotional investment often happen quietly behind the scenes. Without you, opportunities for players to compete against the best in South Africa would simply not be possible.

For our coaching team, this moment is both a privilege and a responsibility. The proof now lies in the pudding as our players prepare to compete against the very best provinces in South Africa. To witness these journeys unfold is something every CJS coach is deeply thankful for.

Above all, we give honour and gratitude to our Heavenly Father for the open doors, protection, blessings, and the road we are privileged to walk with these players and families.

Congratulations to every player selected. Wear your provincial colours with pride, humility, gratitude, and passion.

Your journey is only beginning. 💚

💫REGIONAL TOP SCHOOLS 💫
This past weekend reminded us exactly why school squash is so special — passion, pride, character, and unforgettable moments! 💚🏆

On Saturday, the boys teams from Midstream College and Hoërskool Zwartkop stamped their authority in dominant fashion, beating strong opponents Pretoria Boys High and Hoërskool Menlopark convincingly to book their places in the finals.

And then came Sunday, 25 May… what a spectacle! 👏
The stage was set for an all-out battle between Hoërskool Zwartkop and Midstream College, with both the boys and girls teams fighting for regional glory in front of a jam-packed, passionate crowd creating an atmosphere worthy of a prony final! 🙌@

A special word of appreciation to Dr Strydom, Headmaster of Zwarries, Mr Douw Pretorius and Mr Vernon proudly supporting the Zwartkop teams, and Me Inge Olivier from Midstream College, passionately backing the College teams. School leadership support like this means so much to our players! 💚

And the finals? Everything we could have hoped for and more!
It was a weekend filled with character, determination and true “vasbyt.” Match after match kept spectators on the edge of their seats, and right up until the final result, it was anyone’s game.

To Hoërskool Zwartkop — thank you for fighting until the very last second. Your heart, fighting spirit and sportsmanship were outstanding. 👏 And congratulations to Midstream College Boys and Girls on emerging victorious and qualifying to proudly represent North Gauteng at the Top Schools National Competition later this year! 🏆🇿🇦

We are incredibly proud of both schools for the exceptional quality of squash displayed throughout the weekend. The standard of matches, sportsmanship, and competitive spirit was truly something special. 💚💪

Well done teams!

This past weekend (15–17 May), 89 Centurion Junior Squash players stepped onto courts across Pretoria to compete in the NJSA Closed Tournament — one of the most important junior squash events of the year.

What a weekend it was…

Long hours at the courts. Tough and emotional matches. The pressure of having to mark and referee, straight after giving everything in your own match. Wins that brought smiles, losses that brought lessons, tired legs, sore bodies… but never a lack of courage.

To every single CJS player — we are incredibly proud of you. You showed up. You fought hard. You gave it your all . 💚

A massive thank you also goes to our incredible parents — the early mornings, late afternoons, endless driving, waiting at courts, encouragement after difficult losses, and celebrating every victory. Your support never goes unnoticed. 🙏

A very special word of thanks to the incredible NJSA team. Tournaments of this magnitude do not just happen. Thank you for the countless hours of preparation before the tournament, the long days spent at the courts ensuring everything runs smoothly, and the many hours behind the scenes wrapping up final results. Your hard work and commitment to junior squash are deeply appreciated. 💫

And what outstanding results from our CJS stars! 🏆
41 Top 3 finishes — an incredible achievement and a reflection of hard work, commitment and determination.

Now… we wait. 🤞
The weekend may be over, but for many players, the next exciting chapter awaits as we eagerly anticipate the announcement of the provincial teams.
