Wouldn't it be wonderful if all horses could be this relaxed the first time someone fastens a saddle on their backs?
Apollo has a great temperament, but he also has something else: consistency, kindness and consideration in the way he's been handled since we got him as a weanling. There has never been any rushing to get him backed and ready to ride. He is a rising 7-year old unbacked stallion, but you wouldn't say that if no one told you.
He handled the first time having a saddle put on his back as if it's the 100th time. I wouldn't trade these moments for any amount of force or rushing in training.
