READY FOR THE SEPTEMBER FIXTURE BLOCK! ⚽🔥

The boys were back at afternoon practice yesterday, preparing themselves for a busy final stretch of September.

With our Under-13 and Under-15 fixtures already confirmed until 30 September 2026, there is no time to relax. The focus is on staying disciplined, united and competitive until the final whistle of the first round.

The school holidays are here, but the HFA boys are still working! 💪🏿⚽

We continue building, developing and preparing for the bigger journey ahead — including the planned expansion of the Mamaila Kolobetona Village League to surrounding villages in January 2027.

SEPTEMBER FOOTBALL CHALLENGE CONTINUES! ⚽🔥

The fixtures are out! With the school holidays bringing 10 days of football, our Under-13 and Under-15 boys are preparing for a busy finish to September.

League matches continue on 24, 28, 29 and 30 September 2026, as we push to complete the first round.

Before that, 26 September brings our annual community tournament — a tournament that has been part of our community for almost six years and carries the legacy of the Under-15 boys who made history at the 2020 Didlendle U15 Tournament.

The mission remains simple: stay together, stay competitive and finish the league strongly.
From the current generation to the next, we are building a football pathway that will continue expanding to surrounding villages in January 2027.

❤️⚽️ FROM HFA YOUNGSTERS TO PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL — AND BACK HOME TO INSPIRE THE NEXT GENERATION

Yesterday, after returning from the Greater Letaba Municipality Golden Games at Kgapane Stadium, I came home to a sight that touched my heart deeply.

There were two familiar faces on the football ground — Rifo “Black” Mashapa and Hlapa “Mchinkero” Messi Ramabina — doing match practice with their younger brothers who are still working through the HFA grassroots pathway.

These two boys started their football journey with Humbulani Football Academy in 2017, when they were only 11 and 12 years old, preparing for the Under-12 Danone Nations Cup.

I watched them grow from young village footballers into players who represented HFA on bigger stages, progressing from regional competitions to provincial and national levels, including the Danone Nations Cup and the Under-15 Copa Coca-Cola Cup.

Today, Rifo “Black” Mashapa and Hlapa “Mchinkero” Messi Ramabina are continuing their football journeys in the ABC Motsepe League, while participating in the Nedbank Cup environment at only 19 and 20 years old.

But honestly, seeing them back on the same grassroots ground with the younger boys meant even more to me.

❤️ They came back to where their story started.
The younger boys are currently working towards their own opportunities through the LFA Under-13, Under-15 and Under-17 programmes, trials and development competitions.

And now they have something very important in front of them:

ROLE MODELS.
Rifo and Hlapa can tell them through their actions:
"We started where you are starting today. Keep working. Keep attending training. Keep listening. Keep believing."

This is what I have always wanted HFA to become — not just a football team, but a football family where generations can meet.

The Under-7s and Under-11s watch the older boys.
The older boys remember where they started.
And those who have progressed can return and give something back to those following behind them.

That is a legacy. ❤️
When I think about Rifo and Hlapa starting with me in 2017, and then see them standing beside me today, I can only lift my hands and say:

🙏🏾 PRAISE THE MOST HIGH!
What more could a grassroots coach ask for?
The records are there.
The photographs are there.
The memories are there.
The players are still connected to the academy.
And soon, the HFA Wall of Pride will tell this story permanently at our new stand.

2017 → 2027
Ten years of a journey that continues from one generation to another.

FOOTBALL HAS NO AGE LIMIT! ⚽🏃🏿‍♀️💚

Today, I was honoured to attend the Greater Letaba Municipality Golden Games at Kgapane Stadium, after being invited by the Mamaila Kolobetona Bakgekolo Bakgekolo soccer team.
The event brought together mothers and grandmothers aged 60 years and above to participate in football and athletics, including the 200-metre and 400-metre walking events.

Their purpose is to remain physically active, fight illnesses and qualify for the provincial and national finals.

What I witnessed reminded me of the Under-7, Under-9 and Under-11 development programmes I have followed over the years, including the Kapstadt CUP at Green Point Park in the City of Cape Town.

The difference is only age. The spirit is the same.
I was deeply impressed by the way the social workers and medical team organised and supported this initiative, making sure that our elderly community members could participate safely and with dignity.

It reminded me once again why I started Humbulani Football Academy in 2017: to use sport to build healthier, stronger and more united communities, especially in the dusty grounds and deep rural villages of Limpopo Province.

From young children learning their first touches to grandmothers walking 200 and 400 metres and playing football, sport remains a powerful tool for development, friendship and a better life.

Football is for everyone. The game may change with age, but the love, joy and benefits never stop.

A HEART-TO-HEART MEETING WITH OUR UNDER-13 BOYS ⚽💚

Yesterday, after afternoon practice and training, I sat down with our Under-13 boys for an important meeting.

As a coach, sometimes you must look beyond the results and pay attention to what is happening in the minds of young players. I noticed a mental gap between this group and the Under-13 boys I worked with in previous years.

The difference is clear.

The previous generation was prepared from Under-11 level for the Under-12Danone Nations Cup programme. They grew together through a structured development journey, which helped them understand discipline, competition, teamwork and the responsibility of representing Humbulani Football Academy.

This current group is on a different journey, and I believe they need the same guidance, patience and unity.

I encouraged the boys not to give up on the remaining matches of the Mamaila Kolobetona Village League. I reminded them that football development is not always about immediate success. Sometimes the most important victory is learning to stand together when things are difficult.

My message to them was simple:
Hold on. Stay united. Believe in one another. Your journey is not over.

I want to develop this group further and hopefully add some of them to the three boys whom I took to the Mamelodi Sundowns Academy trials in January 2026.

I have noticed some of the things holding them back, and that is why this meeting was necessary. Talent alone is not enough. Young footballers also need confidence, discipline, commitment, preparation and the courage to believe in their own abilities.

The HFA journey continues to be a learning process.

From the dusty grounds of our villages, we are preparing boys for bigger opportunities. Some may take longer than others, but with unity and the right mentality, every player has a chance to grow.

To our Under-13 boys: do not allow a difficult beginning to define your future.

The remaining games are an opportunity to show character, improve together and finish the league as one team.

The HFA bus is still moving. 🚌⚽

TWO TEAMS, TWO JOURNEYS, ONE HFA FAMILY! ⚽💚

The latest Mamaila Kolobetona Village League log as at 12 September 2026 gives us a clear picture of the progress being made by the young boys of Humbulani Football Academy.

Our Under-13 boys are slowly crawling back into a good position. After four matches, they sit in 6th position with 2 points, having fought hard for two draws in their recent matches. The journey has not been easy, but every match is teaching them resilience, discipline and the importance of never giving up.

Our Under-15 boys, however, are making history in their own way.

After four matches, they remain top of the league with 12 points, scoring 15 goals and conceding ZERO goals.

Four matches. Four victories. Four clean sheets. 🏆

What makes this achievement even more special to me as their coach is that I can see the same spirit that was developed by their elder brothers who walked the Under-15 route with me from the establishment of Humbulani Football Academy in 2017.

Those older boys taught us that consistency, discipline and believing in the process can produce something special. Today, their younger brothers are carrying that same legacy forward.

From Under-13 to Under-15, Under-17, Under-19 and beyond, the HFA journey continues.

We are not only building footballers. We are building character, memories, friendships and a football family that can inspire generations.

The HFA bus is moving slowly, carefully and purposefully. Some passengers are still learning their way, while others are beginning to lead from the front. 🚌⚽

🏆 REMEMBERING THE CLASS OF 2017 — THE BOYS WHO MADE HISTORY! ⚽️❤️

As Humbulani Football Academy continues to grow and prepare for a new chapter in 2027, I find myself looking back at the incredible journey of our young footballers.

The boys who joined HFA in 2017 were just young children with dreams, enthusiasm and a love for football.

Today, when I look at their records and photographs, I realise something very special:
They were not just players in our academy. They became part of its history.

These boys participated in the SMLegacy Tournament and proudly represented Humbulani Football Academy in the LFA development programmes.

Their achievements include becoming champions of the LFA, Copa Coca-Cola Cup, creating memories and records that will forever remain part of the HFA story.

I have kept many of their records and pictures safely with me because I believe that history must never be forgotten.

In 2027, as we celebrate ten years of Humbulani Football Academy, I want the names, faces and achievements of these boys to be remembered permanently.

Their pictures will not simply decorate a wall.
They will tell a story.

A story of children from rural communities who were given an opportunity to dream.

A story of parents who sacrificed and supported their children's football journey.

A story of coaches, volunteers and supporters who believed in grassroots development.

And a story of young footballers who proved that talent can grow anywhere when given the right environment.

To my 2017 boys:
You may have started as young players, but you became pioneers of the Humbulani Football Academy journey.

Your achievements helped inspire the next generation of Under-7, Under-9 and Under-11 boys and girls who are joining us today.

Every time I see the little ones training on the ground, I remember where we started.

And every time I look at the records of the 2017 generation, I am reminded that the work we began years ago was worth it.

ANOTHER STEP FORWARD FOR THE HFA BOYS!

Today's league matches brought another positive day for Humbulani Football Academy as our young players continue to grow, compete and develop through regular grassroots football.

🟢 UNDER-13

Another clean sheet for our Under-13 boys! After a difficult start to the league, the team is gradually showing improvement and learning how to compete with greater confidence.

Every Saturday is another opportunity to learn. 🌱⚽

WHAT A PERFORMANCE! 👏🏾🔥
Our Under-15 boys continue their impressive form with another dominant victory and a magnificent clean sheet.

Five goals scored.
Zero goals conceded.

The boys are responding beautifully to the hard work, discipline and preparation put into their development.

🚌 THE HFA BUS CONTINUES MOVING

As the Mamaila Kolobetona Village League progresses, I am carefully monitoring the players who may earn the opportunity to represent Humbulani Football Academy at the January 2027 Gauteng GDL trials, targeting recognised PSL academy development environments.

The journey is slow, careful and deliberate.
We are not rushing the process.
We are developing players.
We are studying their character.
We are monitoring their consistency.
And we are preparing them for opportunities beyond our rural villages.

Through our participation in the FlySafair competition, our academy has been given an incredible opportunity to support travel for our development programme.

The dream of taking our young players from Hoedspruit Airport towards Gauteng is becoming part of the bigger Humbulani Football Academy journey.

We celebrate today's results, but we remain focused on the bigger mission.

🌱⚽️ LOOK WHAT WE HAVE IN THE HFA HOUSE! 🏠❤️

What a week it has been with our little boys and girls at Humbulani Football Academy! 🙏

I honestly cannot hide my excitement when I see these young ones coming to training, participating, laughing, challenging themselves and — most importantly — enjoying the journey.

This week, the hurdles became their favourite activity! 😂❤️

They jump over them again and again, compete with one another and always want to prove something to their coach:
“Coach, look at me! I can do it!” 💪🏾🔥
And that is exactly what grassroots development is about.

Before we ask a child to become a great footballer, we must first help them become confident, coordinated, active and comfortable in their own bodies.

The hurdles are helping our young ones develop:
🏃🏾 Speed and agility
⚖️ Balance and coordination
🦵🏾 Strength and controlled movement
🧠 Concentration and body awareness
❤️ Confidence and courage
🤝🏾 Discipline and teamwork

But above everything else, they are having FUN.
And when children enjoy coming to training, we have already won something very important. ❤️
To all the parents and members of our community, thank you for trusting us with your children. Every child you send to the training ground is another opportunity for us to plant a seed.

Today they are jumping over small hurdles.
Tomorrow they may be jumping over much bigger obstacles in life.

🌱 Under-7 → Under-9 → Under-11 → Under-13 → and beyond.

This is the HFA house I am proud of.
A house full of young dreams, energy, laughter, discipline and potential. 🏠⚽️❤️

And with our new HFA stand becoming part of this journey, I am even more excited about what the future holds for these children.
We are not only building footballers.
We are building children who believe they can achieve something.
