Young Garick Stander lost his leg when he was 5 years old while watching the gardener use an industrial lawnmower. The gardener lost control of the lawnmower and it knocked him over cutting his leg badly. The doctors could not save his foot so they amputated.

He has been playing hockey since primary school and has developed a passion for the sport. Garick plays for Glenwood High second team and for Munies club.

He also partakes in sprint events and recently competed in SASPD national event winning 3 gold medals.

Gotta Love Hockey presented Garick with a JHD X75TT hockey stick as just reward for his bravery and spirit in which he plays the game of hockey. You have just Gotta Love Hockey. JDH JDH South Africa Glenwood High School
