Saturday 28th March 2026 saw the EMCU Division 4 Grand Final between Stream 1 winners Crusaders Cricket Club and Stream 2 winners Umgababa Cricket Club at Kingsmead Oval.
Umgababa lost the toss and batted first, posting a challenging 182/9 in their 20 overs, Ben Axelrad taking 2/9. In reply Crusaders managed to pass the total in the 19th over, thanks to an unbeaten 146 run partnership between Daniel Smuts and Alex McMullen.

Crusaders Cricket Club Junior programme for 2026 gets underway this Friday, 16 Jan 2026.
Any U9, U10, U11, U12, U13 cricketers welcome to join at 4pm at Crusaders Nets this Friday.

Programme involves weekly Friday practices with Crusaders coaches, weekly matches and cap and shirt. Full details available on Friday.

Crusaders 1st XI took on the CSA T20 Community Cup 2025 Challenge in Johannesburg this weekend.
While rain washed out both Saturday fixtures, the team still powered through to secure 3rd place overall.

Huge congratulations to Jordan Grobbelaar (Captain) for being named Bowler of the Tournament, and Jason Wagener for taking home Batter of the Tournament honours.

Finals day for The 2025 EMCU Premier Reserve T20 Comp saw Hollywoodbets Crusaders 2nds taking on Chatsworth Sporting CC 2nds in the morning semi final at Northwood Crusaders Sports Club
Wes Watson powered the innings with a dominant 92, taking Crusaders to 185/3. The bowlers then took control from ball one, with Tyler “Starc” Finnigan striking twice in the opening over. Contributions from all bowlers, led by Captain Jason Forge’s 3-for, dismissed Chatsworth Sporting for 87, sealing a 98-run win.
The Final followed vs Delta CC 2nds:
Delta posted 171/5, despite early breakthroughs from Tyler Finnigan (3/19) and Anthony Abeit. In reply, Crusaders surged ahead through an explosive start from Wes Watson (76) and Keagan Cox (31), followed by a crucial stand with Marco Gouveia (26). A brief collapse tightened the chase, but Anthony Abeit, Darren Kopke, and Mason Storm held their nerve to finish on 173/6 with three balls remaining.
Crusaders CC 2nds secured the T20 title with strong team performances both with bat and ball.

What a fantastic weekend for Crusaders Cricket Club! It sounds like all teams brought their A-game and delivered some impressive performances.

Fourth Team - Secured a 39 run win against Kwa Mashu at home on Saturday.

Third Team - Greg McGlashan led the team to victory with a captain's knock of 61, overshadowed by a century from Northwood School Josh Mills who ended 106*(64) in a comprehensive win over West.

Second Team - Had a dominant win againt Chatsworth United, scoring 234 and winning by 118 runs. Wes Watson starred with a career-best 125 not out!

Hollywoodbets Crusaders First Team delivered a clinical away performance against UKZN. Ross Coetzee top scored with 88, following that up with 3/35. Rob Frylinck blasted a quick 52*(41) before wrapping up the tail, taking 5/52 and narrowly securing a bonus point win.

Sunday saw finals day at Northwood Crusaders Sports Club in the KZNCU Castle Premier Mens Coastal T20 Cup.
In the semi final, Hollywoodbets Crusaders took on UKZN. Batting first, the home side posted 162/7, with Jordan Grobbelaar top scoring with 49(33)
UKZN were restricted to 134/9 in their 20 overs, with A***n Gopalan the pick of the bowlers, taking 3/20(4)

On to the final where Hollywoodbets Crusaders took on ACC. Batting first, ACC got off to a flyer, but a great spell from skipper Jordan Grobbelaar (5/17) saw them restricted to 155/8 in their 20 overs. Hollywoodbets Crusaders kept in check for most of the measured response, thanks to a brisk 48* from Ross Coetsee, but a tight 19th over saw the home side needing 14 off the last over. 13 were managed, resulting in a tie and match going to a super over.

Hollywoodbets Crusaders managed 14/1 in their super over, which was then successfully defended by Rob Frylinck, taking 2/4 to end the contest and a 2nd trophy for the season for Hollywoodbets Crusaders Cricket Club .

They will now take on the winners of the KZN Inland Comp next week for a place at 2025 National Club Champs.

Week 2 of the 2025 Castle KZNCU Premier League Men's T20 saw the Hollywoodbets Crusaders 1st team with a good win against Harlequins at home in the morning, followed by a trip to the Chatsworth Oval in the afternoon, where they had a convincing win against Chatsworth United.

1 more pool game next week, followed by semis for the top 2 sides in each pool.

Congratulations to Our 2nds on winning the EMCU Premier Reserve T20 comp in an exciting double header Sunday at Crusaders.
They beat Delta by 48 runs in the morning game to set up a final against Harlequins which they went on to win by 36 runs.
