The Ox Eye Tarpon has to be among one of the most difficult fish to land due to their extreme acrobatics they display during the fight. Riyaadh went out for a quick afternoon session and got stuck on to this absolute slab of a Tarpon. After about 8 leaps out the water , the fish had finally surrendered and Riyaadh managed to safely land this beast! πŸ”₯

The Durban harbour can often discourage you from fishing all together when the fish are off the bite , however, at the same time it can provide that one moment of magic that will keep you coming back !

On this session Riyaadh had no luck on his trusty dropshot and decided to go big or go home with a large Strike Pro stickbait. After a few twitches of the lure the water absolutely exploded and he was tight with a stunning Rock Salmon 😍. Such a special fish to catch and once again, the moment of magic that will keep him coming back for more!

Targeting this beautiful species is not only about the catch, it’s about selecting the right bait for the conditions, making that precise cast into the β€˜feeding zone β€˜ and most of all, having patience πŸ˜“
Riyaadh with 2 more beautiful carp landed on his 10ft Sensation carp set up.
