Amashova 2026 delivered more than just exciting racing—it brought a proud moment for Team Siata.

Our Team Principle was delighted to reconnect with Daniyal Matthews, history maker and former National Road Champion, at the finish line of Amashova. It was the first time they had seen each other since Daniyal joined his new continental team, making the moment even more meaningful.

Watching Daniyal continue to grow and succeed is a reminder that dreams are worth pursuing. We are incredibly proud that his biggest achievement milestones in his cycling journey was in Team Siata colours. His achievements and memories that no amount of money can ever buy.

Tomorrow, Team Siata takes to the start line for the iconic Amashova National Classic from Pietermaritzburg to Durban.

We are especially proud to be supporting one of our most talented junior riders in the country, Joshua Johnson – Durban-based and the current SA Junior National Time Trial Champion.

Josh has been racing since the age of nine. From an early age he committed to pursuing cycling professionally. With the full support of his family, Josh has been given the space to grow at his own pace in an environment that balances ambition with the joy of sport.

Following a strong campaign in Europe, Josh was scouted by Team Grenke Auto Eder the junior development team to the Red Bull BORA-hansgrohe WorldTour Team. As the reigning National TT Champion, Josh continues to represent South Africa with distinction at some of the world’s most prestigious junior races.

Team Siata Celebrates a Champion: Sivuyile Gulwako Retains His Crown 🇸🇿

2026 Eswatini Junior National Road Champion – 1st Place. Again.

With power, poise, and unwavering resolve, Sivuyile “Sivu” Gulwako has defended his title and remains the Junior National Road Champion of Eswatini for 2026.

This is more than a repeat. It is confirmation.

Last year, Sivu announced himself by clinching the 2025 Eswatini Junior National Championship and then carrying the flag for his nation at the UCI Road World Championships in Rwanda 🇸🇿🇷🇼. This year, he returned home and proved it was no moment in time — he is the standard.

We are immensely proud of Sivuyile. His talent is undeniable, his discipline is relentless, and his heart for the sport is exactly what Team Siata is built on.

Team Siata is bigger than borders. We are African with an African mandate: to identify, develop, and elevate riders across the continent of Africa. From producing National Champions in South Africa and Eswatini, to supporting riders competing at continental level, our vision is clear — to raise Africa’s next generation of cycling greats.

Meet Nyakallo Sekhethela, known to many as Charlie — a young, driven cyclist from Soweto with his sights set on the world stage.

Charlie’s journey with Team Siata began at CSC - Cycle Specialist Club development program as an amateur rider. His dedication, discipline, and passion for the sport have seen him progress to professional cycling, where he now rides for Team Siata. His work ethic and commitment in cycling reflect the same qualities we saw in Siyanda Gumede, a rider we developed over five years with Team Siata who has since advanced to a continental team.

Beyond the bike, Charlie is a third-year student studying Microbiology and Geography. Balancing the demands of academics and professional sport is no small feat, yet he continues to excel in both. He draws inspiration from former National Champion and history-maker Dániyal Matthews and aims to reach similar heights in his own career. We are confident that his consistency and commitment will continue to yield results.

At Team Siata Academy, we support our athletes holistically through integrated programs in academics, sport, and entrepreneurship. Our track record speaks to the strength of this approach and the success of the riders who come through our system.

Today, we bid farewell to our champ and history maker, Dániyal Matthews as he joins his new continental team, Tshenolo Pro Cycling TPCT. Daniyal has been with Team Siata for 2 years and 2 months, and his journey with us is a testament to what Team Siata stands for: Touching Hearts, Changing Lives through Cycling.

We've touched Daniyal's life through support, Guidance and mentorship, and he's been a key figure in Siata, winning the biggest stage at the 2025 South African National Road Championships in Midvaal. Through our support structure, Daniyal's grown from a rider to a team captain and part of management as Head of CSI, Entrepreneurship, and Education 🤝.

Daniyal's taken inspiration from Team Siata's initiatives, offering free math tutoring to our riders, helping them excel in their education. We've always prayed for this day, for Daniyal to join a continental team and pursue his dream onto the world stage.

As Siata, part of our mission's to see our riders progress to bigger teams, and we're proud to see this mission achieved. Daniyal's a man of the people, kind, gentle, humble, and knowledgeable, with a pedigree that speaks for itself 🏅.
