π YOUTH DEVELOPMENT SWIMMERS 2026 π
Each year, we invite a small group of aspiring young swimmers to experience open water swimming on a larger stage - often for the very first time.
β¨ This year, we welcomed Coach Janet Dlamini and her team to the . A professional lifeguard with over 23 years experience, Janet is passionate about mentoring young people and creating opportunities through lifesaving, swimming and water safety.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of four anonymous donors and Alu Direct - Sphiwe, Zanokuhle, Lungelo, Ben and Liyema too part, all of whom have aspirations of pursuing careers in lifesaving, professional diving and participating in water sports.
Supported by our safety swimmers, every member of the team successfully completed their 1 mile swim in good time and left the event with big smiles and feeling proud of what they had achieved. π
π In Janet's words:
"The best experience anyone can ever ask for. Thank you for including us. It was amazing, we had so much fun. The guys were so excited (a bit tired!) but proud and happy."
Thank you so much to our sponsors and safety swimmers for making this opportunity possible and creating memories that will stay with these swimmers for a very long time. β¨β¨
