Weekend wrap up - Week 6
Our 6th team were the only side to get some cricket this past weekend, with all other fixtures washed out by the rain. They faced Crusaders 3 on Quins 1 in what was a repeat of last seasonβs final. Quins won the toss and chose to bowl on a quality wicket with a fast outfield. The bowlers stepped up from the first over, keeping Crusaders under pressure and restricting them to 147/6. Kalvin Venter led the attack with an excellent 3/17, supported by Vivian Chamier with 2/15.
The chase started with an early setback but Zane Gaze and Tyler Jordan took full control from there. The pair produced a brilliant unbeaten 145-run partnership that shut Crusaders out of the game. Zane finished on 76 not out, Tyler on 65 not out, sealing a dominant 9-wicket victory.
Man of the Match went to Tyler Jordan for his all-round performance, taking 1/15 in his 4 overs before anchoring the chase with an outstanding innings!
What a win, Boys! Well done!

Wrapping up Week 4 with Dominate wins πͺππ₯
"First Saturday Side" continue to Dominate at Home! πͺπ
The Quins 6th Side hosted Kwamashu at Quins 1 for an action-packed encounter. After Kwamashu won the toss and chose to bowl, the innings got off to a shaky start with Quins on 12/3.
Then came a masterclass partnership, the Jenkins' brothers' took control, adding a massive 177-run stand for the 4th wicket.
Clinton Jenkins was unstoppable, blasting 129 off just 64 balls, including 12 fours and 10 sixes, while Dylan Jenkins played the perfect supporting role with 40 not out as Quins posted 202/4.
In reply, Kwamashu struggled to keep up with the required rate. Dylan 2 for 15 runs and Craig Laing 2 for 25 led the attack brilliantly to secure a 64-run win.
Man of the Match: Clinton Jenkins, with a blistering 129 runs that lit up our home ground.
Captainβs thoughts:
βAfter early trouble, the Jenkins brothers turned the game around beautifully. Kwamashu never threatened the chase β a great all-round team win!β ππ₯
Quins "Mavericks" Back to Winning Ways! ππ₯
Quins 3rd Team hosted Phoenix at Quins 1 and took full advantage of home conditions after skipper Subz Dlamini wisely chose to bowl on a slightly damp wicket.
The bowlers stuck to the plan and delivered beautifully with Gareth Boyd with an impressive 2 wickets for 14 runs and Matthew Havenga with 1 for 26 runs kept things tight and never allowed Phoenix to settle. The visitors were soon under pressure and were limited to 122 for 5 in their allotted 20 overs, with the Mavericks needing 123 to win
Leading from the front, Subz Dlamini smashed 68 runs in a captainβs knock, and with a solid supportive role, Justin Kemp finished unbeaten on 33* as Quins cruised to victory by 9 wickets.
Captainβs thoughts:
βGreat team performance and much improved in all aspects from previous matches. Weβre looking forward to keeping this momentum and winning the rest of our games this season.β

The Quins 5th Team had a home game at Forest Hills to face Meadow Ridge, who won the toss and chose to bat.

Man of the Match: Marc Smith, with a composed and match-winning innings under pressure.
Captainβs message:
βWe were clinical in all departments, bringing experience and youth together. Thanks to the players and supporters. Weβre 2 for 2, and while tough games lie ahead, Iβm excited to see our side grow.β
